Default Need to relocate OBD port

I own the dd and would like to relocate the obd port so the connection is not in the way. Someone stated there are a couple of clips but I could not find them. Working in a mosquito infested environment did not help either. Could someone explain where the clips are and how you can move the obd port?

Thanks,

Greg

I found that DD works with any OBD cable. I happened to have a www.ross-tech.com cable that has a nice small plug on the end. I use that cable and through the ECUtek one in a drawer. The ECUtek one was so large that I could not drive the car with it. My leg would knock it out everytime.

Its only 3 wires... Drop the lowr dash and tap three wires off the back of the plug. Run the wires to the ECUtek black connector and use small slip on crimp connectors. Then heat shrink it down.

Cheap fix.

Thanks Clark. I will try that. Someone said the port comes off by just some clips. So you actually have to take the lower dash off? Maybe that is why I could not find them. Guess I was trying to be too lazy.

I'm sure you'll have to take the lower dash piece off (easy, just 3 screws and a few clips) if you plan on removing the OBDII port. I imagine you could relocate it anywhere that the wires running to it will allow you. If you need an OBDII cable, try www.pocketlogger.com

I didn't take the lower dash off. Just pop the outer mount from out of the dash using a screw driver and some force. After that, you can take the plug it's self off the mount and push it back through the hole. Then snap the mount back in.
