Just picked up 2011 WRX..will dealer fix rattles?

so I looove my new WRX so far...100 miles on it after a day. Long trip from the dealer

So many rattles in the car..especially with the radio on and any type of bass. Is this something I could have the dealer revamp? MY '07 speed3 i traded wasnt this bad...didnt feel this good to drive either..although it may have been quicker

I took mine in today for a rattle in the right front door (bass) and the rear decklid. Hopefully it is fixed tomorrow!

It's a brand new car, they should fix it no questions asked. Schedule an appointment and they'll fix ya up.

I have had the same issues and the dealer "could not replicate the problem So, let me sum it up for you.

The deck rattle is the tie downs on the deck lid for child seats. Simply open the covers, insert some soft tissue or rubber padding and close.. Boom rattle gone.

The door rattle is a bit more difficult but still very easy. On the inner door construction, there is a big white plastic square box that with the radio on, rattles against the door panel. Simple take off the door pocket cover (on the interior handle) and you will see the "plastic box". Just insert a small piece of foam between the plastic box and the door panel and rattle gone.

Other than that its great!..Boxer engine is able to drown out some of the rattles

Subscribed based on wanting to know what the dealer did to solve the problem. I am having the same exact rattling with mine.

They were also installing a protectant package to the interior and exterior... so I wont be getting her back until tomorrow (primarily because I work evenings this week). Will let you know tomorrow.

Hmm I have wrb 11 and I don't have those rattles. I have 700 miles on mine. The only rattle I had since day one was the zipper on the passenger seat which I fixed with cotton ball

Yeah... my decklid and door rattle pretty bad. My gut says, "make the dealership fix it!" Booking an appointment will kill a day for me...so I am debating fixing it myself for the < hour it will take.

i just punch the door when it rattles.

I've put a little ball of electrical tape where the back plastic piece meets the window. Seems to asorb all the rattle from back there.

Just got the car back from the dealer and both issues are resolved. The decklid stated 'found shelf improperly secure from factory' : Applied insulation to package shelf and top tether caps

That rattle is gone.

For the door and the rattle with bass. I still hear a little at higher volumes but it is easily 85% less than it was. "Found door lock and latch cables hitting the panel door and baffle plate"

So if you have her under warranty... take it in for a free fix - unless you dont want the certified subie techs touching it (I read that somewhere)

Right on. I really don't want any Suby dealerships around here touching my car. I worry they will scratch the hell out of it. I will probably just tackle it myself. The issue with my driver door is more of a buzzing sound with the music playing. Almost reminds me of the sound plastic would make if covering a speaker. I will take the panel off and inspect.

That's awesome, thanks a lot man. I think I'll take it there after my break in period... I trust them with my car to not scratch it...I mean its ganna get scratched and chipped eventually....

Just document it when it goes in. If it comes out with scratches - they sure as **** will be paying for the fix. I guess I am just baffled why people wouldn't want the certified techs of these cars to work on them. I'm no mechanic - can do and fix a lot - but when the car is under warranty and the fix is free...why not?I already dropped 33k on her - I'm sure as **** not going to pay for little things they can fix and should fix.

YEAH.....

I get the rattles in the front speakers too. I'll try to take a look at it this weekend. Would rather leave it at the dealer, but I rather not have anyone touching my car.

Dealer will fix it no problem. But get use to it as it will come back. I have so many damn rattles, squeaks, etc that I just gave up. Some are annoying and you will go to end of time to fix but others you will learn to deal. Hell I have people you come in my car will say "what is that rattling sound", I will go "hmm completely forgot about that. Just tune it out normally."

I don't trust a single dealership within 100 miles of me. I've experienced and heard bad things about all of them. I know if they scratched it they would lie and say it was there beforehand, with or without documentation. The dealers I have to pick from are all shady...trust me...
