I run 10-30 TriSynth Mobil 1 year round.

Ideally, you want to run as close to the same cold/hot weight as possible. However, since the temp swings so nicely, it really isn't possible.

Cool

Mobil 1 5W30 if you do much winter mountain driving. 10W30 is noticably sluggish below zero, and will affect your starting performance. Never had a problem with 5W30 in summer, but I don't spin the turbo hard until I'm at operating temp.
Go with what suits your style, but 0W30 is not really needed/desired outside of areas dealing with -40 and lower.

Question

Speaking of oils.. does anyone know anything about the synthetic oil Amsoil. Someone I know recommended it, so I went to the website and from what I read.. it looks pretty good. Still, I would still like some feedback from anyone who has used it.

Thanks

The 0w synthetics are great oils however they are typically much more expensive and not generally needed. Many race oils are a 0w Multivis and if you get the really good oil then make sure you have an excellent filter to go with it. I recommend 5w-30 Synthetic as the factory does along with a Subaru filter for best performance. The brand of oil you choose is up to you. The multivis reacts as the low number's temp range when cold and the high number's temp range when hot. The Amsoil products are very popular in Europe are reputed to be a very good oil.
