Yes, definitely! Can anyone comment on how quiet it actually is? Anyone that has had stock, SPT, Q300, etc would be a good reference point. When cruising is it really very quiet, or is it just quieter than most, but still somewhat loud? I don't care how loud it is at WOT, it's not going to be louder than the EWG.

Thanks. See above. If you have any comments on sound, that would be great. How is the alignment on your tips? I am talking to someone who says the driver's side sticks out 1/4" more than the passenger side. Is that true with yours?

Thanks. Looks nice. I really prefer the non-burnt tips though. For now I'm going to try and find one of those, but if I can't get anything worked out, I'd be very interested.

Yes, from what I can tell, you should be able to. It's just a surface finish. ARK actually has their logo laser etched through the blue finish, so you can tell it's just a finish on top of the metal. I used some very fine Wadding Polish on mine when I got it. It didn't take the blue off, but it did an amazing job of shining up everything else!

From what I understand after talking to some detailing experts is that you would probably have to start with something like 1500 grit wet sanding and some elbow grease. Then work back to finer polish (like the stuff I tried) to get the shine back.

I am already lamenting the fact that the Greddy SP Elite isn't quite 3"...

I wish I could just forget little things like that, lol.

I wish I could have the Greddy Ti-C pipes and then be able to swap the axle back between the SP Elite and the Ti-C. It actually seems like they could have designed it like that, but chose not to. The midpipe of the Ti-C has the hanger near the diff, and the SP Elite is shorter and the hanger is on the piece further back.

I would never get the Greddy simply because of the difference in diameter, this was the same reason I cancelled my order on the SP Elite for my old Evo X.

Sounds like you're in need of a custom exhaust. I don't think you're every going to be happy with what's out there. Lol

Stop making me think this!!!

This might make me happy:
  • Full 3" piping, v-band connections
  • 100% titanium for reduced weight
  • OEM sound or quieter
  • Double wall, quad tips like Nameless or Greddy SP Elite
  • 3" boost activated cutout (big EWG?)
  • Dump to atmosphere right after downpipe
Probably would cost me a fortune.

And then I'd probably want to sell it in a week, lol.

If it makes you feel any better I want to go back to quad tip....maybe. Nothing crazy expensive though.

The big single tip just looks some much more aggressive to me. I do miss it at times. I wish I could get one that would flow just as well, but wasn't so loud. Probably not possible I suppose.

The SE is pretty mellow. From my experience, it lays right in the middle in terms of loudness between the SPT and the Q300. More aggressive than the SPT. but mellower than the Q300. Cruising around and even on the highway, I haven't experienced any drone, especially in comparison to the Q300.

It's true for my catback what you've heard about the tips not being perfectly aligned with each other. It kind of bothered me at first, but I couldn't care less anymore .

Thanks . Like others have said, you can always polish off the burnt tip look. But I understand. Just shoot me a PM if you want to follow through

Thanks for the honest opinions! It may be on the loud side for me, but it doesn't sound too bad. The tips are a bummer, but I don't think it would really both me that much. If no one had told me I probably never would have even noticed, lol. I'll let you know if I can't work anything out for polished tips. The purple look really isn't the end of the world, but it's just a preference.

Mine doesn't. Even on both sides. It is much quieter than my SPT setup was. I remember thinking that I could finally drive with the windows down again.

See...this makes me laugh. Do you know how much air you have to be moving that a 1/4" would make a sizable difference in power? If your 302whp number in your profile is still accurate...you wouldn't notice a difference between stock and a 4" straight pipe. I can tell you for certain that it doesn't make a difference at 392whp on a Blouch Dom1.5 setup and a 420whp e85 20G. The practical application in a Subaru setup is the the exhaust doesn't play a key role until you are in the high 400's and 500's. Even then...the design would play a bigger part than a 1/4". I think that xluben's gains were actually more from the straight route back on the GReddy TiC than the diameter change.

Custom would be cool but not sure it could look as nice as one of the gazillion exhausts you've already owned haha.

Is there any other sweet ass JDM exhausts we are forgetting? usually they are the quitest and best for a clean/fitting install.

Hey hey I know this guy... I like his exhaust and I agree with it being between SPT (louder in certain rpms) and Q300 (just flipping loud lol). Riding in his after my Q300 was like heaven my ears didn't feel like they were going to blow up from the fantastic /s Q300 drone. It has a good sound to it on uel headers. Curious what qual would sound like.

Btw isn't nameless Vband connections?

This all just takes me back to the old Evo X days where a few guys made more power after changing to something different that their Greddy SP elite that had a smaller diamter pipe. Maybe it's different than our GR's but I'll never forget that information.

You must be talking about the sedan and not the hatch. The hatch SPT exhaust is LOUD. Part of that has to do with how raspy it was. The GReddy is much quieter. I have owned both.

Hmm why do you guys want to polish off the burnt tip? I'm actually looking for a way to give my SPT exhaust the burnt tip once I receive the car. Anyone knows how to do it safely?
