Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't realize you picked up those coil overs. How do you like the ride? How much did the car drop? Are you going to figure out a cover for them for the winter?

I don't think they're overly stiff at all. I think I might firm up the dampers a bit more actually. Definitely a really noticeable (huge) difference vs stock (in conjunction with the sways). The handling is completely different now. Feels much more stable through corners. I'll have to put some more miles on it, but I don't think the ride is unlivable for a daily.

Forgot to measure the ride height before, so I have tried to look it up online. From what I can tell it was a little under a 1" drop when we put them on. I have lowered it another 1/2" since then. I would guess I'm close to 1.5" lower than stock, maybe not quite that much. Just eyeballing the adjustment, I think these should have no problem getting me up to OEM ride height for the winter. Adjusting them really wasn't bad at all (they turn fairly easily right now). I'll have to rig up some kind of cover to keep sand/salt off of them in the winter...

Yeah, the mudflaps had to come off. I was already scraping them coming in/out of my driveway and over 2 speedbumps each way in to work (minimum of 6 times a day, lol). Would have been much worse with the drop. Probably would have just ripped them off.

I've been wanting to get to the track, but Nuke has cancelled the first two dates on my. Jk, not really Nuke's fault. It has been bad weather. It was actually supposed to be a track day today, but weather looks iffy so Nuke said no one wanted to go. Oh well. I'll get there someday I hope.

So were you scraping your mudflaps even with stock height? I just bought some rally armor UR mudflaps for my 2011 hatch and I have to go over speed bumps every day because the parking deck at work has speed bumps on every level. Do you think I'll be damaging these mud flaps every day?

Yes, mudflaps scraped all the time at stock ride height. But I didn't have flexible ones like the Rally Armor UR's. I was worried my stiff ones would rip off, or even damage my fenders. I was thinking of going for Rally Armor UR's because of the flexibility.

I drag one rear mudflap coming into my driveway everyday due to it being a bit of an off-camber/slight hill coming off the street.
Nothing "bad", just a little noise when it touches the asphalt.

My 4 door is stock height and I have Rally Armor UR's, by the way.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the RA's would rub as well, but I don't think it would sound nearly as painfull as the stiff mudflaps I had on their before. Trade off (and why I went with the Flapatax in the first place) is presumably less protection with the floppy ones.

The tracks are all a couple hours away and I don't have my own helmet, so I'm going to wait until Nuke and his crew are going. I really have no idea what to expect for times though.

Flexible mudflaps should not get damaged. They will just scrap the ground... you should be fine.

Like many here, I am using your build as a guide for my Rex as well. Great job on it all so far. I can only imagine how much pull that thing has! Is it really incredible or Fan Flippn-Tastic incredible for what you have done?

Oh, and if you removed the stock oil pressure bung and used it for the Defi Gauge does that mean the stock pressure sensor in the dash is dead? Does it light up in error or nothing at all, ever?

thanks.

The cover on the boost gauge in the first pic is just that, it's a cover and you can put the arrow at the Max boost to remind yourself if you have boost creep or spiking or you can do what he did, just take it off for the second pic. I have the same Gauge in my 11 STI Limited.

Yeah, the car pulls like crazy now. It is really a completely different feel than the car when it was stock. When the turbo spools it just throws you back in your seat.

The stock dummy light stays off when the sensor is removed. It will never light up now, so you have to watch the gauge instead.

^Yep, this is correct. The silver is part of the gauge itself. The black ring is just a lip on trim piece. You can easily remove it if you don't like it. I agree the silver ring is a much cleaner look. I think it looks OEM that way.

If you can get a good launch, you should see 11.90s. If you wanna take it easy a bit on the tranny/clutch, you should still see mid 12s easy. With the power your car is making you should trap in the 112-115mph range.

Dammit, I just wanna go to the strip now!

Yeah, I wanna get out there because I have a feeling it will take me a while to figure out a decent AWD/turbo launch. I'd be super, super happy/surprised if I touch the 11's. I think something mid 12's would be a realistic expectation for my first time out. It sure feels fast on the street, but I don't ever launch it hard, so idk how I'll do.

I have been researching Whiteline's steering bushings and they seem right up your alley. They're cheap too.
