you're missing out the KEY factor in fitment, what's the offset? the offset will determine how low you can go, rubbing, how much camber you'll need to run to fit it...etc etc. if it's anything more aggressive than like a 45 offset you're going to need to roll for sure.

ben i'm excited for this setup! but you know i'll always tell you that you should have powder coated them before mounting tires

Here's a quick run down on my setups:
  • 17x8" +28 with 235/45R17 (stock wheels with 25mm spacers and stock tires)
  • 17x7.5" +28 with 235/45R17 (04 STI BBS wheels with 25mm spacers and Star Specs)
  • 17x9" +42 with 255/40R17 (sticks out 4mm less than previous setup) (Mach V wheels with Star Specs)
  • 17x9" +35 with 255/40R17 (sticks out 7mm more than previous setup) (RPF1's with Federal 595 RS-R's)
I got a roll on the rear fenders with the original stock wheel/tire + spacers setup and it's been fine with everything since. I might have to roll a tiny bit more with the new setup, but I think I should be fine since I'm not super low.

I don't have any desire for strange colored wheels. I prefer whatever I can find that's closest to OEM. Even though the OEM wheels are darker I still think these have an OEM-feel to the color.

I think they're a little wider than the Star Specs I had as well.

The wheels are 5x100... but I'm really curious what the deal is with his new setup. The wheels look great, tho!

Thanks jiveturkey I'm still trying to figure out this fitment thing. I keep reading about what offset is and I get it kinda but idk what affects what. Having a tough time figuring out what I want. I would like to get 18x9 rota svn-r but idk what offset I would need. I just want m car low enough to lose the wheel gap. I think I'm just going to go ask a discount tire shop on what to do but im scared they won't know unless I find the guy with the slammed vw and aggressive stance that parks in back lol

Wow, I'm really surprised those Mach V wheels stuck out less than your 04 BBS. With the Mach V, was it close to rubbing on the strut or anything? I think those Mach V are cool ass wheels. I wouldn't mind some in a darker color, but my car isn't the widebody, so I'm not sure of the fit. But I've pretty much decided to not put any money into the car until next year when it's paid off.

That's because the BBS had 25mm (1") spacers on them. The Mach V wheels only have a bit of clearance to the strut, but it was enough that I never had an issue.

I'd like to see some 50-100 pulls in the newly stage 1 setup! If it doesn't cause too much pain posting a slower video that is.

The car still looks the same. Maybe I'll take some more shots someday soon. It will get easier as the daylight becomes longer.

This is an awesome buildman. It reminds me of my old bugeye. It jsut became an addiction (the modding I mean). I never thought I'd hae 40 grand in a 7k car, but I did it. Then I wrecked it. Now I've finally got a new one, and here we go again. So far, I've got intake, exhaust, down-pipe, sway bars and a pro-tune. We'll see where we go from here. (probably new Turbo, injectors & fuel pump as soon as the stock turbo decides it can't handle 19psi anymore.

Again, really awesome build. I am also "officially jealous"

I have really learned a ton from all of your excellent documentation. I have to say this is a very interesting development. How do you feel about going back to a hood scoop?

I like the look of the hood scoop. I'll always pick whichever is better functionally.
