Yes they are. The extra negative camber to clear the fenders (due to the drop) makes them look less flush, but if you didn't have spacers they'd really look sunk in. I really do need to raise it up a bit though.

Great build thread. Love the photos and detailed updates.

One of the cleaner and most mature looking WRX's I have seen in a while. Props to you.

When ever you take pics again, can you get some close up on the front mount. I want to see how much I would need to cut off if I get one.

Ben, I've been following this thread for a while and love what you're doing with your car! Since I'm completely new to modding, it's kind of an inspiration to see how you've been coming along.

Just wanted to ask what your experience level was before taking this project on - do you have your own shop, or do you do all your own work in your garage? How much (as in cost) are you into this project so far, and what do you reckon you want to spend in total (if you don't mind me asking)?

Before getting this car I had done little more than oil changes and swapping wheels for the winter. On this car I have done all of the work in my garage on two jackstands and a floor jack. The only thing I had help on was the injectors. As for cost, just add up prices of the items listed on the first page. Must be a few grand of go fast parts and then a bit more on gauges and suspension and other stuff.

I shoot sports/action with Canon 7D's and I shoot portraits/people with a Canon 5D. Car shots will be some of each. Most of the ones of the entire car will be the 5D with a 200mm f/2.8 or 300mm f/2.8.

I haven't been re-tuned yet. I doubt I'll see much of an increase in peak power. But it should be safer and more repeatable on those hot summer days.

I agree. I would consider a fmic if I went to a larger turbo but safe is good

After reading all 20 pages this morning I'm kind of bummed the thread is over for now. Beautiful car, great photography...

Very cool. I shoot Nikon myself. Great pictures that I've seen of yours so far! Saw your car at Calhoun about a month or so ago but I didn't get a chance to talk to you. One of these days i'm sure.

Is the 2.5i hood heavier than the WRX hood, like it was with the older models?

The weight is similar. If anything I would guess the 2.5i hood is a hair lighter.

I saw in the 2011 thread you made a post about what swaybars fit the 2011.

What bar and size did you end up going with?

I have the first post updated with my current parts. I originally got:

Whiteline 24mm Front Sway Bar
Whiteline 22mm Rear Sway Bar

But they sent me the WRX front sway bar, so I had to return it. While my sway bar was in transit back to them, the last 24mm STI sway bar was sold! Everyone (and I called dozens of places) was out of stock for both the 24mm and 22mm Whiteline front sway bar for the STI, with a supposed 2 month wait time.

I finally ended up finding a 22mm Whiteline front sway bar that someone had in stock, so I bought that, and have been running it ever since. Now it appears the STI front sway bars are back in stock, but I don't know if it's worth it to swap back for the 24mm bar. My current setup feels pretty good to me. Very stiff but still feels pretty neutral.

Thanks for the post. I'm going to get some but wasn't sure what sizes to get front and rear. I'm on stock springs and may very well stay on them for quite some time. I was thinking about the same as what you were originally, 22 in the rear and 24 in the front. Do you think this would be a wise choice?

Car looks great, loving how clean it is. Are you still on stock rear control arms by any chance? If so how bad is the camber actually if your that low?

I have a set of BC's in my room waiting, but my control arms haven't come yet. The wait is killing me.

Love the car, love your taste in mods too but put the plate where it goes or take it off unless your state requires it. In my opinion it takes away the cars potential image where it's at right now.

Either way beautiful car man I can't wait to get an '11!
