PST literally put the wrong driveshaft in the box when packaging in the factory. I don't think the supplier could have helped it, unless they opened the box and checked it.

I'm really hoping it gets rid of the shacking / bouncing / clunking / lashing awfulness that is the two-piece bendy-straw of a driveshaft.

It does. I have the driveshaft shop one on mine. Love it. Awesome investment in my opinion.

Yeah, someday I might have to try it. It's an easy part to swap. Only takes a few minutes.

Very simple. You won't see it on the dyno but daily driving its easy to tell the difference.

I dug up some photos from one of the events last summer. I handed my camera to a buddy and he took some photos for me. I set it up for panning and told him to take a lot. Some turned out pretty good!

Thanks Derek!

Your car looks great on the track man, love it!!
Not too bad photography either

Is this track mandatory to have a co-driver for training?

Thanks. This was at BIR on the road course (http://brainerdraceway.com/facilities/road-courses/). It was during an instructional day so there are a few sessions in the morning with an instructor in the car. Then in the afternoon the instructor can sign off and let you drive alone. The previous trip to the track I was OK'd for solo driving. The day these photos were taken was when my 5 speed blew up, haha.

It's probably higher than that. Maybe f/8 or f/11. I didn't have a polarizer or neutral density filter so I just set the ISO to 100, then set the shutter speed for what I wanted, and finally adjusted the aperture until the exposure looked right. Since it was a bright sunny day I had to stop it down a lot. A CPL or ND filter (or two) would have probably been better.

It's pretty sunny out, and full sun = ~f/16 1/125s @ iso100. So if he had no polarizer (which maybe decreases 1/3 stop) and had no ND filter, then it would likely be f/11-f/16 depending on how cloudy it was out. Add two more stops to get to 1/30s and f/11 is out of the question.

The look of the sharp shadows from the car would make me say f/16 maybe, without knowing if any exposure compensation was added in post, how how bright/cloudy it really was.

I'm curious now Ben, whats the exif say?

Nice car, haven't looked through a lot so sorry if you answered this previously. You mind telling the rpm and mpg you're seeing while cruising with the spec b gears? Im interested in them for a DD

I think it says f/11 but it was RAW and I'm not sure how much I pulled the exposure down. Your numbers sound pretty close.

in the last week or so, i have read this thread from beginning to end..
And i think that if i had not known you still had the car when i got to the part where your motor blew, transmission blew, or when you started selling all of your parts, i would have died at 20.

You are a terrible person for crushing so many dreams for the sake of a lol.

Just wrong.

Also, you are an inspiration to me

Haha. That is funny. Maybe I could make this into a novel and sell it. Lol.

You really probably could. There's been many points during the life of this car in your hands where other people would say screw it and sell the car outright. Your dedication and perseverance with it is awesome! I've enjoyed every bit of this build. Also, I should mention every time I think of a new exhaust combo that might sound nice, your youtube videos are usually the first hit

Up until the last switch everything had been pretty incremental. Going with the whole new setup that I did was definitely the biggest single change. I think it was worth it though!

damn those tires look meaty... Someday I'll get 'real' tires. For now, I just keep telling myself if I need more grip than what I've got, then I'm being too dangerous with my car. (I also don't have 600whp though, so that kind of grip requirement isn't valid here.)

The 255's are putting down the power pretty well. I can get the TC to come on in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, but it's not really a lot of wheelspin if I turn the TC off. I've gotten a couple decently loud chirps FFS'ing into 3rd as well.

Did you ever notice the open diffs, front and/or rear, allowing wheel slip, before you did the R180 swap? As far as I understand it, with open diffs front & rear, you would have 1 front & 1 rear tire free-spinning if you over-powered the wheels or lifted the tires in a turn.

Certainly no real risk of that for me in a straight line at ~320whp, but when I try to take some really aggressive flat-foot turns on pavement, sometimes it feels like the car goes limp; wonder if that's the diffs, allowing inside wheel spin, robbing torque from the outside wheels.

I've had my car out drifting in the snow a lot too, but I never noticed the open diffs spoiling any fun. It always seems like all four wheels are powered equally. (It's rubbish with the TC on though, I know that for sure.) Maybe the 'open' diffs just aren't that open/weak?

I guess I'm just desperately looking for yet another thing in my car that's horribly inferior and in need of an upgrade lol.
