You mentioned taking those shots with your cell phone. Now you can connect that 70-200 to your phone (iPhone and sworn allegiance to Apple Required).
Haha, I was just kidding about that. I did see that gadget. Looks cool, but I don't have an iPhone. Not really an Apple fan...

Haha, more money? With the way you've been throwing money into your car. You appear to be a millionaire.

Yeah, i'm down in Bloomington. Occasionally get over to the north side of town though.

Well, I'm currently selling my 02 wrx and going to be ordering a 2012 as soon as they are available, so I've been looking up a lot of threads on stuff and every thread where I see something I like, it's always xluben...

I figured you would have an overall car thread, and, it's really nice man, you have done a lot of what I will be doing to my car, doing it right and buying the good stuff, and it looks really good for it man, good going. Going to subscribe to this thread just so I can review it again when I finally get my car.

Thanks, but as far as I know the 2012 Impreza won't be compatible with most/all of these parts. And I don't know if they'll even have a 2012 WRX. Haven't see any announcement yet, and they did say the WRX was going a completely different direction, but wouldn't be out until 2014.

The 2012 wrx will remain the same as the 2011, the 2012 impreza will be different, and in 2013 the wrx will be broken off of the impreza line. This is what I've heard from many sources.

My brother just got a new downpipe for his MS3, and I got a new point and shoot camera for traveling, so I decided to put them together for some quick product shots. For the very modest camera/lighting setup I used, I think they came out pretty decent.

I kind of wish I had taken the time to do better photoshoots on all of the parts before they went on my car. Oh well, all the parts I have are pretty common, so most people know what they look like, and I did get shots of some of the smaller stuff.

Yes, same company new name (I think). It really looks like a quality piece for sure. It appears to be a COBB copy, and the quality looks just as good to me. We'll have to wait and see how it fits...

What point and shoot are you using? Those look like SLR quality.

I just got the Canon G12. It has a flash mount so I used a 580EX II flash bounced off the ceiling. The lighting is really what makes the difference on this kind of shot. I'm sure I could take similar photos with just about any camera, as long as I had some way I could fire an external flash or two.

Don't know if you saw this:

Might finish off your interior nicely. Just something to consider.

AYE buddy, i as wondering did you have to mod your front bumper in anyway for the FMIC? the FMS FMIC seems to be the best shape for it. looks like a perfect fit for the bumper.

Thanks. I did see that. I've been eying it up since well before GT Spec decided to make it. Unfortunately I can't seem to justify that much cost for something that really doesn't do anything. It's on my list of wants, but not really high at the moment.

Yes, you have to cut a crap load out of it. It is a pain and takes forever. It is NOT a perfect fit (until after you spend several hours cutting it). I would not recommend a FMIC unless you need more mounting options for different turbos.

Do you have to mess with the support beam in anyway?

The FMS FMIC comes with a new crash beam that completely replaces the OEM one. It is poorly designed and has to be modified for the FMIC core to mount. The lower mounting points on the FMIC core also have to be modified to work.

Hey man, just curious about your tune. I saw that you have 20psi marked on your boost gauge. Your maps say that you have a custom tune correct? Did you try any of the cobb stage1 and stage2 maps before getting a custom map done for stage 2 and then E85? I am in the same boat as you with aem cold air, cobb ap, invidia dp and spt catback. Just wondering if there was any downfall to you running 20psi right out of the box. Let me know, also sending this to your pm.

The bezel on the gauge doesn't mean much, you can turn it to whatever you want. I haven't had the bezels on for months now. My original setup was the COBB downpipe and SPT catback, but I now have the Invidia downpipe and catback.

I do not have a COBB AccessPort. I have an open source tune that was done with a Tactrix cable and RomRaider/ECU Flash. Therefore I did not use any OTS maps, they were all custom.

When I was on pump gas my Stage 2 tune was peaking around 18psi. This is a good safe level for pump gas. When I went to E85, the boost was bumped up as well. Right now I am running about 22psi.

Aaah gotcha. I'm just curious what other people have to say. I'm talking to turbotek out of pa right now and they are saying that running 20psi is safe. I'm not quite sure and just want to get some feedback before doing that. Doesn't sound right but they would know more than me.

Sure, you can probably get a good pull or two, but the tiny stock TMIC will heat soak very quickly and is at risk of blowing apart. I'm sure it works for some people, but it's really about the level of risk you are willing to accept. At 20psi this risk is considerably higher than at 18psi. Especially if you're on an aggressive tune and pump gas.

I haven't seen any solid evidence that says it's really worth it, but I have heard that some people have problems with them. The GrimmSpeed one looks promising, but I haven't felt compelled to go out and buy it.
