New motor next. I have been thinking of trying to make some new videos. Hopefully sometime soon.

I currently have an SPT Catback but I just wish it had a little more volume/rumble to it. I can't really tell from your video so I figured I'd ask. Power gains for me would be marginal without a protune since I'm already running Cobb's OTS map for the AEM Intake. (If I remember correctly the AEM intake map and stage 2+AEM were quite close in comparison power wise.) So that's not really a factor. Anyway, great build, definitely an inspiration to the rest of us 2011 WRX builders. Keep up the good work.
I don't feel the downpipe changes the sound at all. Maybe 5% vs. the cat back exhaust's 95% of the sound change. Going from Stage 1 to Stage 2 will be a big difference. Try checking out Torqued Performance's map's. Their Stage 2 will be quite a bit more powerful than COBB's. COBB's Stage 2 is very conservative (hence the minimal gains over Stage 1). Stage 2 is totally worth it, but it really didn't change the sound much at all, IMO.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into Torqued Performance.

+1 for Torqued Performance

Also, I thought the Downpipe added more sound in the higher revs. If i recall, the SPT exhaust lost some of its rumble above 3-4k rpm. But with the DP it keeps the rumble and volume consistent to redline.

Hey xluben, just out of curiosity, what differences did each "major performance upgrade" do for your mpg? For example, from stock to stage 1,2, injectors?
I drive 46 mi to college everyday and wanted to know how deep it will dig into my pocket!

I did not see much change from stock to Stage 1 to Stage 2. I was always around 20-21MPG.
Obviously switching to E85 was a big drop. About 25% decrease. Down to around 15-16MPG.
After going to the bigger turbo I am in boost less while daily driving so I'm up 1MPG or so.

I'm sure it's in the thread, but what did it run for a 1/4 mile?

Ha! I bought it with the intention of it staying STOCK for the life of the car!

I only went to the drag strip once, and it was when I had the stock turbo. The best I could do were 12.6's @ 110mph, but I was not good at launching and had trouble getting my 60' times under 2 seconds

Lol. This one is a tiny park near my house. I don't even know the name. I sometimes use other parks near my house. They all seem empty enough whenever I go. A long lens helps with isolation too.

Yep. Sold the Q300 and I'm running the stock exhaust for now. It sounds like a rental car At least until the EWG opens up! Haha. I'll probably pick up something new before summer.

Haha. I thought maybe you were going back to stock and selling your car. Glad you're not.

Yeah, I thought it sounded very good. But my wife thought it was a bit too loud on the highway. Now I'm on the lookout for something quieter while cruising. I'm thinking of giving the Nameless a try.

Will the nameless be restrictive to your setup? Or is it a high flowing exhaust?

I was planning on going with the 3" midpipe that Nameless offers, so it should be similar in flow to the Q300. Honestly, I went and did a log tonight, and the stock cat back really doesn't seem to be holding me back much as it is, lol.

Peak boost was down about 1psi, but the power still seemed to be there on the top end. Didn't seem like it was really choked at all. I think the EWG probably has a lot to do with that, though. Based on this, I think any 3" exhaust will be more than enough.

ohh okay cool, I am also about to get the Nameless and was just wondering about that. sweet pictures by the way. I have a Canon T1i but can never get the background that much out of focus. But then again, I have the original lens.

The T1i and stock lens can certainly take excellent photos, but they will not have that level of isolation. For that you need a large sensor, long focal length and wide aperture. I shot that with a Canon 5D and 135 f/2.0 lens.
