No, but considered it a whole bunch! I like the car overall too much to go to an evo. It sucks the engine isn't better but I like everything else about the car. Plus I would lose an arm and a leg if I sold or traded now. Maybe a used evo, hmmmmm.

Yikes! Evo costs even more than an STI! I might just get a Civic.

No way don't do that man, you are just a little upset that your car is in the dumps right now. I was thinking the same thing because I am now getting my 2nd, thats right 2nd, bumper replacement. I was beginning to think my car was cursed. After I calmed down and began thinking clearing it would be completely rediculous to sell out of the car just for that haha.

Oh no... Even for the winter time? I know you can make them stupid fast but...from one Asian to another, don't do it please. Don't perpetuate the stereotype. Although a Subaru isn't that far off lol.

I had a silver car once. People kept hitting me. Traded it in for a 'HOLY **** BLUE' one. My GF had a silver car as well. She was hit 8 times. That's right, she was hit, as in a passive--not at fault--victim in a collision, 8 times. Every single one had the same story: "I didn't see you!" Driving with your lights on helps a lot, even if you have DRL.

Ben, I wouldn't ditch the car because of this. You've come too far to quit now. You had to have known this was coming. What was your plan?

I spend a lot of time browsing the Evo forums and you'll find plenty of 4B11 engine failure threads around 400 wtq.. it's not anywhere near as fragile as the ej25, but it's not as stout as the 4G63.

civic would have lived through 400whp for longer, but on the other hand 400whp fwd seems like it would get old fast

So you spent a bunch of dough on a car that you knew couldn't handle the power levels and now you want to sell it because what you expected to happen, happened? Not sure I really understand. You're going to end up selling the car for $15k as is, do you really want to take that kind of bath on it?

Bummer, sorry to see this man. Take some time to figure out which direction you want to go. Just out of curiosity, do you think if you stayed with the stock turbo/e85 combo your motor would have lived longer with no worries?

With the condition of my car, I think the best I could trade it for is maybe an 07 Civic. Hopefully something I won't mod....

I'd rather just get a non turbo 4 banger auto and not worry about modding anymore. Something economical and reliable.

That's not a bad idea, I have 3 cars. Drive the Suby once a week. Of course I'm a 330hp guy not 400. Just let some time go by before a hasty decision , I can imagine the sting ure feeling.

We had this conversation back when mine went. What happened to assembling a block over time? I guess that never got off the ground?

Jock if ure referring to me that plan has just slowed ATM , still want to but doing some remodeling of the house and that's $$$$ as I'm sure u know. Although it would be easy as U know to hide a block in the garage. (devil) Xluben don't be discouraged man it's part of the game and on some level u knew but hoped it wouldn't happen as we all do.
