Sorry for the thread jack x.

It was catted but the downpipe doesn't change the sound all that much. At most you might here just a little bit more turbo spool.

Yeah. I don't think the downpipe changes the sound much at all. The more I listen to aftermarket exhausts, the more I like the stock one. Being extra quiet at idle/cruising is great for me.

Any reason you won't go back to the SPT? I just got it installed on my Sedan, and I think it's perfect. The exhaust tone has a nice deep rumble without being raspy, and no highway drone.

The sedan and hatch versions of exhausts are very different even if they are the same model. The hatch version is much louder than the sedan.

If I found one really cheap I might. But if I'm going to spend a big chunk of money on an exhaust I'd want something full 3". I did really like the sound.

The stock exhausts sound very different too. The sedan is much louder. The SPT for both sounded similar to me. I thought they both sounded good.

I've read that it was the other way around, with the sedan's version being louder. hmm...damn you internet, now we need to do some kind of sound test to figure it out..

The "matching" vinyl in the other side looks very good.

The sedan exhausts are almost always louder, or at the least the same. I've never heard a hatch that was louder with the same model of exhaust.

The q300 for the hatch and sedan, the hatch is louder and drones while on the sedan its quieter with no drone. At least thats what everyone was complaining about in the 2011 wrx/sti exhaust thread.

I feel you on dropping a big wad of cash on another SPT, those things AREN'T cheap, and there are nice 3" aftermarket exhausts in the same price range. The question here is, can you find a 3" exhaust that isn't too loud for your wife's tastes? Seems like you're in a rut.

I LOVE my exhaust. I've met a bunch of other guys up in the northwest with a variety of aftermarket catbacks installed. The majority seemed too loud for me. I wanted to hear the engines rumble, without having a problem listening to music or having to scream at a passenger to have a conversation. I think I just have old man tastes...

Interesting. I haven't ever ridden in a sedan with the Q300 but it makes sense because my hatch version was pretty loud and quite drone-ish on the highway.

Yeah pretty much. I think I'll probably not be getting one for a little while. The stock one seems to be doing fine for me. I don't really care about how "cool" it sounds as long as it goes fast.

I shake my head when I see an N1 on a Stage 1 or Stage 2 car. All that noise really is not necessary.

I like the quiet killer. The GReddy is as loud as I want to go.

I'm almost too stealthy. I haven't had a random person try to harass/race me on the street in over a year. Which isn't really a bad thing, lol.

I'd feel so bad for the poor civic si (or even civic in some cases) that tried to pull up next to you....it'd be so embarrassing...

I'm not too worried about those. Lol. Fast Honda's are not common round here. There are some but not many. Most are riced out so they easy to spot. Lol. There really aren't a lot of modded cars I see on the streets.

yeah there is nothing interesting around here except for old men with muscle cars and college guys with wrx/sti/evos. back on long island you didnt have to look too far for a street race.

a 500whp honda doesnt have traction until 5th gear anyway

sorry for whoring your thread again
