Yeah I think you're right cause I saw a video on youtube of one dealership just doing a walk around in it. They said the district managers are driving them around to show to the dealers before they get on the lot.

They definitely do not have any rear leg room. A lot less than what my 2006 Si coupe had...

Everyone has their opinion. I rocked my quad tip for a year and got bored of it, bought an N1 and I love it. Maybe it's because of my love for racing, but I love the rumble, popping, and the occasional back fire. I'm only stage 2 with a tmic and don't claim to be a "fast car" , but I'm on a budget and I enjoy it! No reason for head shaking!

I'm not sure I have any mounts I would trust, and I don't think it would sound very good anyways. Usually when people stick cameras out the window it sounds terrible.

Hey Ben, I've got a question for you. How's your transmission holding up? I've heard that WRX transmissions aren't the best and you're putting a lot of power through yours. I've heard the 2011 transmisisons are better, but what's your opinion?

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with how sloppy the WRX transmission feels compared to other cars I've driven.

Mine is still OK, but I don't imagine it will last long. A couple local guys have broken 5 speeds within weeks after installing TD06 20G's. They were on older WRX's though.

I thought the COBB/MODE short shifter and Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings helped the shifter feel tremendously. I would highly recommend them all.

I have the ACT HD pressure plate, ACT full face disk and ACT street flywheel. On higher boost it still slips. I am going to have to go to something stronger but I have a feeling that it'll be a death sentence for my tranny....

I think you'll be fine. The 2011's seem to be holding up much better than previous years and my tuner even says they are much stronger. I would probably hold off on the flat foot shifting though...

I think a saw a post somewhere that sometime during the 3G cycle (I think before 2011, but maybe not as far back as 08?) the WRX 5 speed got a little beefier gears (maybe similar to the Legacy GT?). They had photos of the tranny's split open. This makes me hope it'll last a while, but I realize it could be a matter of time. I have stopped FFS'ing for now though. Really no point unless it's at the dragstrip.

my mustang friend ran into a guy who traded his 2012 wrx for a new 5.0 after the wrx "blew a seal" ? after 12 straight launches, I'm thinking that could be a tranny problem but I really have no idea..lol 4th hand info.

if the gears are actually the same as LGT gears you should be able to handle almost as much power as an STI because the gears are almost the same

Keep in mind though that the 2008+ WRX has a 3.9 final drive, where the Legacy GT has a 4.11 final.

Hope that helps, and I'll give my +1 that the ability of the 5MT to hold power is largely dependent on the driver (though clutch selection, and gear oil used also play a mentionable part).

So, it's basically a LGT tranny with 3.9 final drive. Should be stronger than the older WRX 5 speeds, but not nearly as robust as the STI 6 speed. We'll see how it holds up....
