Not sure how much it's worth with the broken tranny. I think I might be able to trade it straight up for a low(ish) mileage Civic EX in the 2007 range.

Bummer man. I was wondering how long the 5-speed would hold out at your power level and it exceeded my expectations.

Did it just lose 3rd or is the whole tranny borked? We're you able to drive it home after the break or not?

I'd say since you already sunk this much money into it, you might as well have your tranny rebuilt with stronger gears.

I've been following the Xluben and Overland04 build as a guide to the best DD results so it's sad to see one of them go. Although I guess xluben's close to 500ft-lb was starting to be too crazy for DD.

cant tell me you wouldnt want some parts too lol. car was nice and came quite a far way in a pretty short amount of time. sad to see the trans end it all.

The right thing to do would wait until he offers instead of trying to strip his car apart the day he posts about 3rd gear letting go. He hasn't even fully said what he is going to do with it.

And no...there isn't anything I would want off his car...you need to check my build thread.

(I might be the next one with transmission issues if I go e85)

Just texted my girlfriend about all this... We're both very upset. Sad to see one go, but yes... the torque+flatfoot shifting.. it was inevitable. Still though, I don't know about where you guys live, but a car with one blown motor, one built motor, and one blown transmission... That's not to appealing to buy used. If it were me selling it, I'd be ready to take a serious hit on value of the car.

IMO, you have come too far to just give up. Sleep on it, regroup, and start the process of doing a 6spd swap. Your going to being kicking your own ass after a few months driving a Civic.
