I was just hoping it would last forever. I guess all that flat foot shifting wasn't a good idea.

Not sure how much it's worth with the broken tranny. I think I might be able to trade it straight up for a low(ish) mileage Civic EX in the 2007 range.

Bummer man. I was wondering how long the 5-speed would hold out at your power level and it exceeded my expectations.
Did it just lose 3rd or is the whole tranny borked? We're you able to drive it home after the break or not? I'd say since you already sunk this much money into it, you might as well have your tranny rebuilt with stronger gears. ![]() |

I love how people always start calling dibs on parts on a car that isn't being parted out yet. Vultures...

And no...there isn't anything I would want off his car...you need to check my build thread. (I might be the next one with transmission issues if I go e85) |

Ahhhhh just saw this. Don't sell it, in the back of your mind you must have known this was coming eventually. You were/are playing with fire with that kind of power....
I'm gonna cry, you can't do that to me |

Just texted my girlfriend about all this... We're both very upset. Sad to see one go, but yes... the torque+flatfoot shifting.. it was inevitable. Still though, I don't know about where you guys live, but a car with one blown motor, one built motor, and one blown transmission... That's not to appealing to buy used. If it were me selling it, I'd be ready to take a serious hit on value of the car.
Sorry to hear, xluben, it is a sad day. |

Wouldn't a 2007 Civic still cost more then a rebuilt tranny?
IMO, you have come too far to just give up. Sleep on it, regroup, and start the process of doing a 6spd swap. Your going to being kicking your own ass after a few months driving a Civic. |

Ben, you should start a talk show with all the gossip you can stir up in one day, lol. It's amazing what people come out of the wood work when you threaten to sell.
You took a nice break from NASIOC for almost two weeks, I can only imagine what you have been up to In your garage... Only time will tell ![]() |
