Nice! I think it would be cool to have this just for the reflective purpose and to add a bit more business to the back end.

Did you guys know that rallysportdirect.com sells this kit for $200 now?

Ok, bump after some poking around since my front fog light kit finally came. The stalk switch in our cars are not regular switches. They are actually logic switches, so without reprogramming the BIU, we can not have the rear fog light work like it's supposed to via a European stalk. Sucks...

We also have a difficult time to bypass the need to have the headlights on to have the fog lights on for the same reason.

For those that have this kit, is it even reflective at night? Thanks.

It'd probably be expensive because you would need a whole new taillight, you can see how it's in one of the tails in this pic
I'm probably going to pick up these though http://shop.jwmotoring.com/product.s...&categoryId=94

Or do you just mean the normal fog light kit up front? just order from subaru.

To be fully proper you'd have to get a LHD rear foglight (left tail would be red), change out the stalk, run wiring, and convince a Suby dealership to enable the feature in the BIU.

I have installed the rear fog light on my '11 STI 4-door recently. I tried to keep expenses down so I got the light assembly only (not the whole kit) from RallySportDirect for $110.
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/STI-...n-WRX-STI-2011
The rest of parts I got on eBay for the fraction of the cost - bulb socket, fog light switch, and front fog light extension harness (not necessary if you don't mind to tap factory harness in the vehicle). The instalation hardware (2 screws and 2 threads) is from OSH or Home Depot just for a few bucks. I also needed a spool of wire, a few connectors and a heat shrink tubings from RadioShack.

1. I installed the light assembly into the place as described in previous posts. I used a socket for 7440 bulb. The tabs on that socket needed minor modification with a cutter knife to fit into the light assembly.

2. I wanted to keep existing factory wiring intact to get the juice for the rear fog light. I got the juice from the front fog lights so the rear fog can be on only when the front fog lights are on. I spliced (soldered) the aftermarket extension harness and plugged it in between factory front fog harness and the front fog light. If you don't mind to splice or tap the factory harness you don't need this harness extension. This way you don't need an extra relay or a fuse for the rear fog light. The additional 21W rear fog bulb doesn't make any significant extra load to the front fogs circuit.

3. I routed the wires from the rear fog light to the dashboard and I did the same from the front fog lights through the firewall. I didn't want to drill the dashboard to install the rear fog light switch but I still wanted to have it on a visible spot. That's why I got the small fog light switch from Airtex that fits perfectly into the small panel right above the dimmer and headlights aiming knobs. This way you have to drill the hole only into this small plastic panel

4.The very good guide how to disassamble the interior to route the wiring from the rear fog light to the dashboard is here: http://techinfo.subaru.com/proxy/638...H630SFG300.pdf

5. Job done:

I had a hard time to find the switch that is small enough to fit that spot. Beside that I didn't want to use an universal switch, I wanted one with a fog lamp symbol and an yellow light in it. The plastic material of the switch is almost identical to the plastic panel on the dashboard. When carefully installed (perfect round hole and no scratches) it almost looks like an OEM setup.

This is the webpage of the manufacturer: http://www.airtexve.com/homepage.html

This is the link when you can get it on eBay right now:

Thanks guys. But I found one on here from a forum member! I just wired it up to run with the stock fog light switch.

Let LED's light your way!

I wired-up a friend's 2008 hatch using a red LED bulb and a separate switch.

We did not color/tint the reverse lamp because there is no need to do so when using a red LED bulb. In this manner, the rear of the vehicle retains its original look - two white/clear back-up lenses.

We utilized the existing socket whereby I cut the power wire and installed a bullet-connector so that if he ever wanted to, he could return the socket to its original use as a back-up lamp. I also wired it so that when the car is off, it is off and thus the battery could not be inadvertently drained.

Please note that in this picture, my friend used a filtering lens to obtain this 'star' effect.

I installed a Hella-Toyota switch into one of the blanks in the center-console. Here is a picture of the switch in my car for reference:
