Default 2001 Outback Fast Driver's Side Turn Signal

Recently purchased a 2001 Outback Limited. Both front and rear turn signals are OEM and/or equivalent bulbs. I went steelhead fishing on bumpy, muddy, dirt roads and now that I am back in town, the left run signal blinks at twice the normal rate. The rear and front turn signal lights are operational. When I apply the emergency flashers, the signal/blink rate is normal.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Most subaru's have a turn signal on the front fender between the wheel well and door. It could be that bulb's burned out.
