these things never sell up here.. they have sr20s which is kinda cool..but a $5k car, check tiger japanese they have a couple if you want one and are local to me

here in the states they are rare. Just like the Mazda 323GTX & 323GT Sedans. They didn't bring the GTI-R to the states at all. The Mazda's were 1,700 for the GTX & under 1,300 for the GT-Sedans.

I've seen (2) GTI-R's personally. Both at shows, both owned by JDM-type tuner shops/importers.

If I'd known the GTI-r's were plentiful in Canada, I would have gone looking for one when I had some mad cash. good find.

Not to derail the discussion, but how does one get around things like the car getting seized by Customs in port/at the border and RI scams? I know that cars have been registered in particular states without actually being federally compliant. Such vehicles are always at risk of being seized and destroyed. Since the GTI-R has never been crash-tested in the U.S., how does one make the car legal?

i took a ride in one with a few bolt ons and it made me piss myself. Its sofaking quick! I'd get a Nissan if Nissan didn't make vag-mobiles (except Z and GTR), I miss my 200sx
