Just had a Velvet Merkin from Firestone Walker. Pretty good stuff. I love the beers that come out this time of year!

I love that 90 minute ipa. Definatly not for the lighthearted though.

I don't really mind the ban. Those drinks were good for a cheap drunk, but man they taste like crap.

Anyone into aging beer? I have a beer that wont be ready till 12-12-12.
I have a small "cellar" of aging stuff right now. A few Deschutes reserve stuff, a lot of barley wines, a smattering of other stuff (I'm excited for the Big Sky's Ivan the Terrible I have).

What you have is one of Stone's Veritcal Epics, they release one each year (started 2-2-02) and are all meant to be saved until the last one (12-12-12) is released and tasted together

Isn't Bridgeport the place that has the massive urinals? I'm 6'2", and I'm pretty sure one of those could eat me alive.

I'm impressed with how serious some of you are with your beer. My next question (which seems to be a recurring theme) is where do you get the good stuff for cheap? I know of Gravity in Olympia, and I know Whole Foods down here can get just about anything for a price.

I already mentioned Lagunitas Imperial Stout for $3.29 at Albertsons in Hillsburrito. That's the only thing I've figured out so far.

I'm always enthused about beers. My taste buds yearn for:

Black Raven Trickster IPA
Mack n Jacks / Deschutes = any variety is delicious
St Pollys Girl - The beer with boobs!

I have one of these that has been cellered for the last 2 years. Going to break it out on my birthday in a couple weeks. - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/413/45695

Picked up a 4 pack of Widmer Dead Lift IIPA last night. I love imperial IPA's and this one is solid. My only tip is to let it warm up a bit. The warmer it got the better it was.

John's market in Multnomah Village has by far the best selection on the westside of Portland if not in all of Portland.

I dunno maybe I just had a bad bottle. I split it with a couple people so we could all taste it and we all thought it was horrible. I usually like hoppy beer but that was too much.

I guess Sam from Dogfishhead has a new show coming out this month? Or hes in a new show about brewing? I only saw a quick blurp about it. But he was in a good portion of Beer Wars which has me on a totally different outlook upon beer so ill check it out for sure.

This is interesting....
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...inkban11m.html

Why do I feel like Budweisers Caffine beer will just so happen to slip under the radar on this? Whats next, im not allowed to order a vodka red bull at the bar? When I was in high school I know of kids that drank too much budweiser and had to get their stomach pumped too... but it was the parents fault back then.
Oh no! Look at that guy over there! He's drinking a sparks Arrest his ass!

Cool, thanks. I don't know if I would have found that place on my own.

Does anyone know of a place near Beaverton/Hillburrito that has Guinness on sale right now? I'm coming down with a cold, so I'm going to need to stock up.

I get my rare beer at New Seasons or at Cork (about 17th and Lovejoy) We forked over the $100 for the membership club so we get invited to special sales and get like 10% off the rest of the time. The prices are pretty good too And not sure about bridgeports urinals... I live across the street so I really never have a need to pee there.

Where have you found their Imperial Stout? I usually just see their IPA in the store. One of the best beers I ever had was their limited run of Hairy Eyeball.
Oh, saw your other post that you found it at Albertson's... the albertsons around here suck for beer selection.

Mcmenamins Ringlers has giant old-school urinals. And Deschutes Brewery in the Pearl District has massive urinals as well.

I found a pic of the Deschutes pissers on line.

Weird, the alberson's around here have the best beer selection aside bottle shops.

I love beer, probably one of mans greatest creations. I love a good IPA with a great bitter hoppyness to it. Or a crisp white ale.

Some of my favorites:
Dogfish Head 90min IPA
Dogfish Head 60min IPA
Stone IPA
Allagash White Ale
Hefienwisen Wheat "I dont think I got the spelling right"
The mens room orignal red is quite good also

Anything by 7 Seas Brewing in Gig Harbor. Home of the proper pint! Some of the best beers around! If anybody ever wants to drop into the tap room hours and grab a pint let me know... the taproom is only open thursday-sunday, but it's definitely worth checking out. Might be a good place for a meet!

Good people there. Even better beers.

Cheers!
