Default cobb tuning stage 2 head package

i want to get my heads done but cobb tuning wants $4350 for their stage 2 head package. it includes bigger cams, head work, and all of the valvetrain components. dosen't that seem a little high in price. they say a gain in 30-50 hp with the right components that compliment it. is there any less expensive comparable place to go? unless cobb wants to give me a price brake?

Compared to prices I've paid for internal engine work on my Supra, it seems very fairly priced. I've heard the quality is top-notch. Once I've saved some more coin down the road, I hope to have Cobb Tuning do some internal engine work on my WRX, too.

what kind of gains could i expect with out the valve train components and the larger cam. just a porting job and port matched intakes and exhaust.

ls1 engine head/cam combo runs about the same. if you havent already, save your money and do a turbo upgrade.

the LS1 is the engine for the camaros, firebirds, and vettes.

the stage2 clyinder head upgrade is intended for either serious race teams than arent allowed to do other upgrades, or who are looking to make lots of power without running lots of boost, OR people who just want to make INSANE power

I want to make INSANE power but I just gotta get my wallet to cooperate!

Having said that, I would also agree that a number of other upgrades should be done first before proceeding with this one.

Me too. All I gotta do is win the lottery for my dream setup: Stage 3 Block (2.5), Stage 2 Heads, SR-50 turbo at 1.5 bar. That ought to be good enough to put my automatic wagon in the 11's or better.

Oh well, one can dream, eh?
