Default ddm tuning hid kit help

Need help hooking up ddm tuning slim hid kit to 2004 Wrx. I know these are bad but I'm one of those people that don't care. Now I have an h1 35w 8000k kit. The red matches the red to the hid bulb and does the gray hook up with the black? I'm guessing gray is the ground so it goes to the black from the hid bulb? If so the gray doesn't come off? Or am I just to weak? Or am I doing it wrong? And the ballast are hooked up and everything. I don't need to splice any wires right? My bro put his h7 on his 07 Wrx and everything was plug and play. The red to red and black to black they worked. For some odd reason my is red to red and black to gray?

if those are your only color options, and the plugs fit...one should assume it's the way it should be. Plug it in and see what happens...worst case it won't light up
