Question If you cant afford all 4 rims dont drive around with only two!

Sorry but this just gets to me, The other day I was driving and I saw a farily new BMW, as I pull up on it I see its debaged, and as I get along side what do I see now?

Yup Two nice shiny chrome BBS(so said the center caps) wheels up front and stockers in the rear. Its so annoying I see it all the time, IMO It makes your car look stupid!!!!

Please if you cant afford all four at once thats understandable, just wait till you get all 4 to put them on your car!

Oh this isnt directed at you guys, Its just a rant. I think some of you feel the same way too?

What is your opinion on this? I have never seen a scooby with mismatched wheels.

If I could only buy two wheels at a time I would wait till I had all four to put them on, wouldnt you?

well, maybe the other two nice BBS rims got damaged due to bad parallel parking, so the guy is running with stock rims in the meantime until they get fixed? just pointing out that there's some legitimate reasons you know..

What's worse are those guys that get new body kits but cant affoard to get them painted yet but install them on the car anyways. The 2 rims thing is not that bad because sometimes folks get the wrong type of rims for their cars like wrong offset and it's messing up their suspension so they take em off the drive wheels. Several people I know had that problem before.

Good point guys, but that brings me to another thing, if you bought bbs rims wouldnt you make sure they would work with your car? before shelling out 3 grand for them or more. Then would you keep only two on your car if the other two wouldnt work? ever? Any opinions on this? haha this opens up so much stuff for discussion, I didnt realize it.

Hhah I too have seen the body kit thing. Im hate to say but at a scooby meet that shall remain nameless, but there where over 60 scoobies in attendence, I did see one unpainted wing on an RS and one BRP ver5 wing on a silver RS....hmmmm.

My god thats about 10 times in the last 20 minutes ive seen a WRX commercial on TNN hehe.

Well with the guys I knew with the wrong wheels, the problem was offset and what was happening was it was causing hell on the bearings, in the beginning it wouldn't be a problem but after a few weeks the bearings would start grinding down and you could hear them protesting big time in the car even with the stereo on so they had to take em off. Also it didn't help that those 2 guys ordered the rims online and the sales folks said the rims fit. So word of advice to folks. Do your own research on what fits and works or not with the stuff you buy and dont rely on the sales guys.. they suck!!!

Speaking of chrome wheels, I saw a Legacy with chrome wheels parked at a parking lot near the Javits Center (the NY Autoshow). I didn't care for those...
