Angry Paint?

Hello all,

I have a black 2001 Legacy GT and when washing the car (done carefully) I noticed the paint peeling off the front bumper.

I have ~34K miles on in and am scheduled to take a trip to Ohio at the end of the week that will put me over the 36K paint warrantee. So I"m going to have the local dealer (Somersworth, NH) take a look at it.

Any advice? The paint on the car does suck (scratches very easily) but I was just dealing with it until it started peeling. Is there anything I can do to ensure it's covered under warrantee?

Thank you.

Chris

It may be that someone backed into you hard and momentarily dented the bumper. The paint lost its bond and just now started to fall off.

Just a geuss.

Post Dealing with Subaru Paint

Don't I know how bad the paint job is?

I had the peeling paint problem this spring, unfortunately it was no longer covered under warranty.

If the paint is still under warranty, then take it to the dealer ASAP, like before you travel and have them verify what damage exists prior to racking up mileage. Explain your situation (need the car for travels) and you might be in luck.

Have them put it in writing that it's covered so that when you get back from Ohio and take it in for repair, they can't deny you.

Peace,
Oqui

Ciper,

I was hand washing the car when it happened... no marks, I don't think I got bumped...

I'll take the car in tomorrow and get it documented.

Thanks!
