Default Spec B pre-purchase questions

I'm planning on buying a low mileage 2008 Spec B at some point in the near future. If events pan out it will most likely be a car with 10-30k miles with a factory warranty. Below is what I have been looking at...

This Spec B has around 13,000 miles with mods that include a catted down-pipe, turbo timer, and Cobb AP V2 @ Stage 2, and ddmtuning hid kit 55w, h7, 5000k. I've read mixed reviews on the HID kit but I guess I could take that out. There are some other modification but they are just cosmetic and not an issue(wheels, tint). The car has been running these modifications for 1K miles.

If I bought the car with the mods, would a dealer kill the warranty after seeing them? The seller said he can remove these modifications if I prefer but if I had that done, would Subaru be able to tell that the car had been modified and void the warranty? Would I be crazy to call my local dealer and ask them these questions?

Having a factory warranty is crucial for me so that's why I'm very apprehensive about any modifications.

I appreciate any positive input and recommendations.

And yes, they will be able to tell if parts have been removed and replaced. Turning wrenches and screwdrivers leaves marks.

Agree with above. If warranty is important, find an unmodded one.

Thanks guys. I read through the above information and you're right, it makes sense to go for a stock car for what I want.

I just found a stock one locally so if all goes well I might be a Legacy owner in the near future!

I'm excited to test drive the car. I have never driven a legacy before and this 2008 Spec B. seems to be very nice.

Jealous, the 07+ Spec B is a very nice car to own.
