Default Spacers (I know) for WRX Wheels on a Foz

I have a '05 Forester and I'd like to put the 06/07 17" WRX wheels on it. The Foz uses a +48 offset, but the WRX wheels are +55.

I'm trying to avoid that sucked in look, so I'm thinking a 10mm spacer would give me an effective +45 offset, which should be close enough to stock to keep handling the same and keep my wheel bearings happy. Is this correct?

(I know that +55 would be better for my bearings...but would reduce my track width slightly..I also know I'll have to replace the studs with a 10mm spacer...)

Also, has anyone attached a spacer to the inside of the wheel, semi-permanently (tack weld or a couple dots of JB weld), then had the wheel balanced? It seems like this would help eliminate the spacer as a potential unbalanced weight. Also would make changing the tire a bit easier. Is there any reason that this might not work?
