Default 2000 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon mods

Hello folks,

I am thinking of buying a 2000 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon. I am curious to know how mod friendly they are. I am not looking for speed. I am looking for handling, off-road capabilities, and fuel efficiency. Not too sure how well these things work together, but thats why I figure y'all might have some advice.

Not too much you can do for fuel efficiency without a lot of work (3.7:1 final drive ratio helps). Handling and off road capability are polar opposites, you'll have to pick one or the other.

Impreza's can be lifted, lowered, there are many spring rates available with or without coilovers, sway bars are easy to change, wheel and tire options are many, and just about everything from other subaru's can be pretty much bolted on.
