Default 17x8.5 5x100 wheels?

ive been searching for sometime for 17x8.5 wheels as i think 17x9 is a bit too wide with the offsets (et30 or so) that are offered...

ive come across only a few sets but most are $2000+ (ie work wheels)

anyone know of a cheaper 5x100 17x8.5 wheel? offset around 40...i wish rota still made the 17x8.5 slipstreams

the 17x9 +42 wont poke. "poke" has more to do with the offset of the wheel than the actual width.

Dan at wheel dude ran a 245/40 on the 17x9 +42 dpt's with only having to roll his fenders.

They might be worse than Rotas, but Sterns makes a 17x8.5 Super cheap too.

I was just searching for wheels last night to use with a wide body kit. I am putting the cart before the horse since I don't have the kit yet. They look meh, but are super cheap.

Here's the e-bay link.

dude YOU DONT GET IT. a 9" wheel w/ ET 42 WILL NOT POKE. the 9" +42 actually sits further IN than an 8.5 +35. Like I said before DAN from wheel dude ran these same wheels with a 245/40 and only had to slightly roll his fenders! Hell, its even an easy fit for the guys with wagons!

5Zigen GN+. 17x8.5, 5x100, ET48. That's what I use for my street wheels.

Note, that is not a color they are available in. I painted them.

its going to be about the same yes the 8.5" wide wheel with a 35mm offset is going to sit out or "poke" .75mm farther than the 9" wide wheel with a 42mm offset.

I like those, however knowing Stern wheels, they are probably heavy.

Look around, you can find them all over the place. Not a rare wheel. I can't recall where I got mine. I picked them up about a month after I bought the car in 04, so it's been a while. They're around $250 a corner if I recall.

I run Rota DPT 17x9 +42. They are great.
With 245 tire I just have to roll the fenders (only rubs when I do a really really sharp turn)
