Talking Just love getting compliments

I'm pulling onto base today and flash my ID at the gate guard and he pops a salute, from behind dark shades and from the corner of his mouth a bit of smile begins to emerge. "Nice car, sir."

I know it's not much, but getting any sort of emotion out of those physical security types is quite a task.

He would have complimented you more if you were enlisted. ;-)

He sounds like our guards at my AFB, it seems only there arms work.

Yesterday I had a guy in a BMW eyeballin' my car at a stoplight fron the next lane over. He even held up traffic in his lane for a second to see the RS's rear end befor he pulled forward.

Today I had a few folks walk in my shop after looking at my car out front. The guy says to his girlfriend "I think that's a Subaru Legacy WRX turbo..."

I'll take both as compliments.

I love those comments too. Also, when I'm down at my local car wash you'll hear a honda with a melon shooter pull in al loud and wild, then they see me there drying my scoob. They drive real nice after that!

I just stopped by the store on my way home to grab a drink and got complimented. Although it was a staggering drunk on the sidewalk. Hmmm, glad I locked the doors.

I've gotten a few also.
One of my most memorable was in the city at night. I was parked in the lot behind where I used to live. I had been "testing" at a quarry in Fredericksburg and had mud and dirt all over the car, and some guy walking buy who looked likea local "walker". He was nice enough complimenting me on my car, then he asked why I had it all dirtied up... I said that "she" looks better dirty. He's like " naw man, you got a nice car there. I was wlakin by earlier and saw it it and was gonna kick your ass for gettin it all dirty!.." gulp. I' glad he was kidding.
