Ladies and gentlemen I bring you the ultimate sleeper. This car blends in perfectly with every corolla/camry on the road along with every other bland looking car out there.

Stage 2 w/ Full TBE. Capable of running high 12s and ready to embarrass 98% of the cars on the road.

Sleeper is what I was going for on my LGT. Just nice, clean and simple and subtle, but a beast under the hood. Blacked out FMIC, and currently at 330whp at 17 psi. 05' wrx swap, 2.1 stroker, Dom 2.5R turbo, v8 jdm sti 6spd with all axles, R180 and Brembo's, and DCCD.Pro controller. It's still a work in prgress though.

Painted the Brembo's satin black with flat silver logos to keep it stealthy.

I even made a custom gauge pod to keep it stealthy. I didn't want to have any A-pillar crap, or gauge pod on top of the dash.

Currently adding a UEL header and going bck for 25psi with the HFS-6 spraying a ton of meth

Thanks for looking!

morrocco88: Any suspension mods on that? It looks to be sitting a little lower than stock.

also, Can I get a pic of your FMIC? I'm having trouble hiding mine.

This is not a sleeper. you fail! and stage 2 isnt that fast! and if you mean by the 98% every car on the road including 18 wheelers, garbage trucks, Geo metro's and mid 90's sedans and coupes that are driven by your average joe then ok maybe it can embarrass them.

anything in the 13's period is considered fast....any car that can cause a fatal accident by accelerating for less than 5 seconds is also what I consider fast.

suck my left one

Maybe not to a Suby-guy, but a stg2 2009-2010 WRX IS a sleeper. 13s is pretty quick, 12s and you're in serious sports car territory. Exotics will still beat your ass, though Mustang GT types will often be caught with their pants down!

Put some 16s on it and get rid of the hoodscoop, then you can catch even more people by surprise

please, those tassels on your handle bars slow you down

I'm talking about anything that can get to 60+ MPH in less than 5 seconds...thats a fatal accident. Head on and you have a 80% chance of dying instantly...so in 4.5 seconds you generate enough velocity to instantly end your life and others while most cars take almost double that to make those speeds.

+1 to the 08-10 stage 2's being sleepers. They're the least attractive of the bunch, they look like corollas and when they slide into the 12's you've got yourself a mean DD.

Lets say you drive a stage 2 wrx that is stock looking and I'm in a flashy looking stage 2 wrx/stage 1 sti:

Can't really call a stock looking stage 2 wrx that runs 12's a sleeper on a Subaru forum because most Subaru wrx's or sti's are stage 2 anyways. So your power level compared to most of the Subaru's you see on the road will be relatively the same to yours if not equal. How can I call you a sleeper if you try to fly by me on the hwy and you notice I'm still beside you?

H&R sport springs on KYB GR2 struts. Pretty basic, but perfect IMHO.

Here is a FMIC pic. I just painted it really light with flat black krylon, and all the couplers, clamps and pipes are black too. This way most people don't even see it.

quit comparing it to other wrx/stis then

The whole I idea of sleeper is unsuspecting, yet powerful. The only wrx that works in this category is the 08-10. It looks like a bigger corolla, is ugly as hell, and doesn't even look aggressive in any sense.

In the sense of NHRA no, they are not fast...anything in 12's is fast. Since when does sleeper mean you have to dominate the car next to you? If you give them a run for their money you did your job. If they have to turn their head and say, "....the hell is this guy doing next to me still?" you have achieved your goal, even if you lose (drag strip)

There are different levels of sleepiness too, some are better than others. The Forester and Legacies and hatch backs that are pushing 300+ or 400+ as we've seen here are DEFINITELY better sleepers

Awesome build for sure! I hope to make that much power with my H6 way down the road. Its going to take a lot of money and building!

Yeah, My FMIC is way far forward, and much harder to hide in my bugeye.

Any ideas on hiding it?!

Yeah, that was one of my first ideas, and it works, Kinda. The problem is that most meshs look too good, and still make the car look mod-ed. I was hopping that the painted FMIC could be mistaken as a radiator, but the real problem is how far forward it is mounted. (I still have my stock bumper beam, I just modded it so my FMIC fits behind it)

no running 12's and 13's inst fast (unless you are trapping ridiculous traps and times are high b/c of traction probs.) 12's and 13's were fast in the 90's

A stage 2 WRX any year, is slow, and unless you are an awesome driver you arent running 12's in a stage 2 sorry.

You know nothing about a sleeper! go away child
The true definition of a sleeper is rolling up in ur assumed POS against a well known high horse power car! not ur average mustang GT b/c they a slow ****boxes too, i'm talkin about corvettes, worked mustangs, cobras, even worked up Evo's and the like! a car to be known to run insane numbers! then you come along with your wrx, that appears to be just a stage 2, but in reality your running a built short block underneath with a infant sized turbo! but nothing about the car appears you have such, but you walk that high horsepower worked car like a Kia!

morrocco88
v7ps
Junior2jz (GC and forester)
cubuff (Ultimate so far)
CPC (would look alittle more sleeper w/o the tubbed rears lol)
Alcoolaid (looks like a standard wrx minus the gold wheels)

These are true built sleeper cars! loads of horse power but look stock

Stage 2 wrx is not sleeper! its just a stage 2 wrx

i bet you live life a quarter mile at a time....

basically the car has to be a POS according to you...and no car posted in this thread is a sleeper at all...by your definition that is.

None of the cars posted here would even touch a "worked" evo or vette...so this thread is a fail by your definition? I think there are some really nice sneaky cars in here. They don't have to be a POS...just unassuming...however I agree the more FACKED UP a car looks the more sleeper it gets.

And you're calling me a kid? You do realize most people make sleepers because they Street Rice on the regular...which only kids do. God you sound like Paul Walkers retarded cousin.

12's for a street car is fast numb nuts, especially when the douches are racing it on public roads.

i agree with him (^^ krauser2) high 12's are quick, but anyone that has half a brain should know the new gen WRX's are rocketships(<--used loosely) compared to a bugeye wrx (so in the modded car world there less of a sleeper then say that VR4)

but another thing is looks to....if your car looks like its from the late 80's early 90's its a better sleeper then a car like cubuff (even though his is redic. lol)

my idea is this

the older and uglier it looks and the more horsepower it has makes it a true sleeper

so like for instance a stock looking wrx that makes 500whp < 500whp toyato tercel

its basically living up to its name "Sleeper" being the most unsuspecting.

it also depends on your P.O.V. if your not into cars(Avg person) your term of a sleeper is different then some who eats/sleeps cars everyday

Evo's are not sleepers there know for being quick out of the box and easily modded to make 400whp

same with STi's, 350z,etc... 30k-50k$ japanese sports cars New....

outside the subie world that vr4 above is perfect...also 1gen talon/eclipses AWD 4g63 6 bolts look like hell and they can fly (i.e. they have tons of potential)

minus the wheels and FMIC
