Smile misc. JDM pics of stuff I got.

Hi-yo.

Here's some of the stuff I've been importing for my car with the help of a friend in Japan.

The first is a BG9 taillight. The BG9 tallight differs form the BG5 taillight in that it is darker, almost smoked looking from the factory. I brought in both the BG5 lights and the BG9 lights and decided to install the BG9 lights. The only bad thing is that I have a BG5 center panel, so it isn't dark like the taillights, so it looks a bit mis-matched. When I find a BG9 center panel, I'll probably import that so it all matches.

here's a closeup of my new emblem. It's a JDM Legacy 250T emblem, which stands roughly for 2.5 Touring. The 250T is a 2.5 liter NA JDM BG wagon, which is basically what my car is / will be. I think it's a spiffy emblem. I can't help it if people mistake the "T" for turbo.

Here's some pics of the JDM projector (I got a set) with various angles and shots of the wiring and how the projector bulb looks. By the way, it is a used item because I wasn't about to spend $900 on a new one.

that's all for this bit. Feel free to ask questions if you want.

later,

-Steve

I paid around $400 total. not sure exactly because I got everything at once so I paid all at once.

I haven't opened up the lights yet either. I've been pretty busy so they've just been sitting on my couch. Part of this whole project will be trying to change the beam to work better with RHD cars.

the projectors are a biatch to wire... but worth it ... you'll need a special relay to work between the city light and the low beams ... good luck...

Where did you get from? I have asked a bunch of the usual rice-boy stuff importers and no-one can get me a set of Legacy projector lights Haven't tried any Scoob specific importers as I don't know any.

Looking for model year 95 BTW - I think that's a BD? Still not sure about all the Bx/B4/B9 business.

yeah, tell me about it. I searched for an importer for TWO years and nobody could get 'em. So with the help of a friend in Japan I got 'em off Yahoo auctions.

Vendors on i-club aren't very Legacy friendly. The WRX is where the money is at these days.

I could get you a set (used, from auctions), they'd cost around $500-$600.

Default Where did he go?

I'm in Japan right now for the next year, and while I'm here I want to take advantage of the JDM market and pick some stuff up for my ride. Trouble is, the new stuff is just as expensive as in the states, and I'm having trouble finding scrap yards etc. that sell the used parts. It doesn't help that I don't speak Japanese. Do you have any idea where your friend went for your mods, or could you maybe ask him? Thats a good price for all that stuff, and I want to take advantage of the opportunity while I'm here. I'll keep an eye out for the center piece to your tailight assembly in my searches. Any help would be great.

Default He says where he got the....

parts above. Yahoo-Japan auctions. Thanks again for all the info monovich, I am now looking at the auctions every chance I get. So you have an extra set of JDM taillights(not as dark)? Not that they would work on my car but I bet someone else would like em

Yeah I saw that after I posted, I guess it does good to read the whole post before replying I guess my search will continue for the scrap yards. I know they have them, in fact I've seen whole cras and front clips being sold online and to specific vendors. Oh well.
