Default Specific Offset/Clearance Question

I have a 2005 Sti with a set of AST coilovers on it. They are single height adjustable, and at the height they need to be the lower spring perch ring sits next to the tire. I cannot raise it above the tire or the rear of the car would be sky high.

Right now the ring clears the tire, just barely, by like 1/4". I am running a 2007 STi limited wheel, 17x8", not sure on the offset? Same as a stock BBS STi wheel I beleive.

I am looking at getting a set of Rota DPTs in 17x9, with a +42 offset. For tires I will be running a 255 width, not sure on brand yet.

MY question is this: Will the Rotas clear my suspension with that size tire?

I'm assuming a wheel/tire guru can do the math and tell if the offset will either make the tire sit in the same spot or farther out, or I dread..farther in...

Thanks!

Pic for reference. It's a bad angle, it's not touching, but you can see how close it is.

I believe the stock bbs come with something in the +53 area. they will clear your suspension just fine, but you will need to roll your fenders with that size tire.

stock bbs are 17x8 +53. if the wheels aren't touching the suspension at rest, they never will. i had about the same clearance with my 18x8.5 +48 wheels and 255/35/18s and never had an issue.

the 17x9 +42 DPTs will clear just fine.
