I just searched on line retailers for various universal signal/switch combos until I found one that I liked best. I'm pretty sure it is a 7/8" but Danny can verify.

Anyone got any cool ideas for fender looks?
I Made the blanks but need to shape the foam to start the molds but everything I draw looks like some kind of Harley fender

Do you have to cover the outside? Looks like a Cadillac Deville rear wheel cover.

Wait a min....I see the drawings over it on the side.....makes it hard to visualize. I'm sure you will come up with something that rocks.

I vote for a tear drop fender with an integrated shark fin!

Here is the Atom 700 where they made custom fenders for the rear 275 tires.

As far as shape, I actually like the style of the rear fenders on the car posted above by The Gnome.

Tr-82ss vs Tr-42s? I would think the ls engine would have problems with leaving rubber everywhere. The tr-42 might have less of a problem, especially with a big turbo reducing low-end torque.
Is the bodywork going to be plastic/fiberglass or metal? I would think aluminum would be awesome. Especially if it was powder coated the same color as the frame or an appropriate contrast (like a silver or grey with a black frame).

Really? This would be awesome? Still the 5 speed right? Have you already found a source that isn't ridiculously expensive for the transmission parts (last place I looked was $2200 for the shaft and gear to reverse rotation).

The TR82SS above does not have an LS V8, but it does have a great old school V8. My TR-42S has a twin scroll Forced Performance (White) turbo that should spool up at lower rpm's versus having a big turbo that comes on all at once around 3500 rpm.

The awd would not be cheap, between the trans shafts and special axles I think it would add 6 to 8k to the car.

However one wouldn't need the block off plate and spool, you could probably run the stock diffs instead of a limited...?

Wouldn't be for everyone but it sure would be fun to build and drive!
The body work would still be the same as the TR but would need a custom cover in the back IMHO.

I just had a thought about a Ford DOHC 6.2L V8 and 6 Speed from something. that would be stupidly fast though

I'm sure this has been mentioned here before but I cant find it in the 1142 post. About how much do these cost? I'm sure there are a lot of options that influence price but whats the base price?

Edit: Nevermind I decided to take the few hours to go through all 1142 post. If my 550 AWHP STI sells I know where my money is going..... #10!

Have you looked into any non-Subaru AWD drivetrains? It would be kinda nice to stay mid-engine, but I don't see that happening with Subaru's gearbox.

Nope. The chassis would have to be extensively modified to accept another type of drivetrain. The Subaru running gear is pretty easy to work with. To retain the mid-engine AWD layout, it would have to have some sort of transfer case to send power to a front diff through a driveshaft. It wouldn't be impossible...but it would be $$$$$.

The rear-engine AWD layout is exactly the same as the Porsche 911 Turbo, and they're pretty fast and and handle decently well...

Default Where are the ethics in the automotive industry?

I cannot begin to explain the frustrations I have experienced with this TR-42 project. There have been several vendors that have taken 3-4 times longer than promised for items that are standard issue for their trade.

It seems like the car will never get done and I am about at the end of my patience. Two weeks from Friday it will be 2 years ago that I ordered this car.

This is not my first hotrod build either. I have had several high dollar custom builds that were not as difficult as this car.

It wouldn't take much more for me to walk away from this whole mess!
