Default FREE: Gas Fireplace in very good condition (Fairfax area)

Free, or if you're really nice you'll bring me a 12-pack of Mountain Dew Code Red or Dr.Pepper

Ok, gotta get this thing out of the basement and anyone who wants it, come get it. Would look good in a basement or living room or whatever. Save me a trip to the dump, it's just taking up space here and don't want to deal with annoying people on craigslist!

This gas fireplace was fitted in our house before we bought it, and we didn't need it (it took up the wall where our TV eventually went!), so pulled it out. The previous owner said he installed it in 2003 or so, and used it once or twice. We used it once. So it's in very good shape and works fine.

It's a brass surround gas fireplace. Starter is a click-button hidden underneath (kind of like a gas grille). Finish is in excellent condition. Gas cutoff is via a "key" thing on the side. I may or may not still have the key, but it can be setup without it or with a conventional gas cutoff valve with little difficulty. Also has the fake logs inside, in good condition. Can be fitted in-wall, or built a mantle around it (it had one, but I used the wood for anther project, lol)

that's just dust on it. The finish is shiny and very good on all panels.

Josh-

Can you pull measurements on it- H/W/D on the whole assembly?

Cara has been on me to get an insert in our masonry fireplace. If it fits, I'll come down and take it, thus doubling the number of cases of soda and packs of cigs I'll owe you.

pat, the opening dimensions for it are 35" wide, 17" deep, and 32 1/2" tall. The trim around the front extends about 1/2" farther all the way around.

Eh, too tall.

I considered cannibalizing it and using the logs, but that is way too much effort.

Thanks, though.
