Question I know that paint isn't covered but....is it too late?

I've noticed that on the side of my front bumper where there is a seam the paint is so thin you can actually see a black stripe (close to where the wheel well is). I know I haven't washed the car enough to rub through the paint, it's just that thin. I didn't really pay close attention to it before, I guess.

The car has almost 12k on it and I got it in November of last year.

I know that the paint isn't warranted, but is this an exception? It came to me like this. (also would be a good reason to have them repaint the whole front bumper).

Anyone else have this problem? It almost looks like a hairline crack, but it's a seam.
Thanks.

Paint defects on the paint is covered under warranty. It's from the manufacturer and not due to abuse or neglect.

indeed... i had the paint on my GT and on this car re done.. but i did it right away...

likely you'll have to jump through hoops and all but keep on them and it should be warrantied if it is a true defect...

regional manager may have to approve... but if you are that worried about it... go for it...

you'll never know until you ask.
i had repaints on both my cars.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I have to tell you- you are going to have a VERY hard time convincing them that the defect was there when you got it... the first question they will ask is why did it take you 18 months to notice it (or 6 months if you meant Nov of 00 by "last November")? You will probably get them to repaint it if you biotch and scream enough, but you've got a long fight on your hands I think...

Ok, thanks people. I should have done something about it earlier. I guess I only started looking really closely at the front bumper after I started getting a couple chips from normal driving. I'm not real sure if it's worth the hassle. And, Brian...it's been 6 months (got the car in Nov. of 00).

Thanks for all the suggestions.
