I only wave to WRXs and STis now. I USED to wave to all Subarus, but nobody does that **** in Richmond. I got tired of waving to old ladies and random people and getting the WTF look. Now I only wave to WRX and STis and sadly the only ones of those that even wave are usually modded too.

I get more waves from Evos and modded BMWs.

I wave at all WRX+ but sometimes all I get in return is a strange look from the driver...

I've gotten nothing but love from enthusiasts. Other people who just "drive" a Subaru/impreza are just confused. "Who the F are you?" look haha.

A simple nod or wave always does the trick... or confuses the heck outta the old lady driving her son's car.

I actually don't wave at anyone, but if someone waves at me first, than I do to.

I noticed that mostly only teenagers wave. Nothing wrong with that ,It's just my observation.

Oh ya, the (insert choice word here) who ride Harleys do it too.

I really only throw the deuce up to modified WRXs or STis. In Washington literally every third car is a Subaru Outback or Forester. If I tried waving every time I saw a Subaru, it would get old real quick and everyone who just uses them as a car wouldn't get it.

The niche car market owners do it. You're not really going to see Civic owners doing it because there are so many of them, and a lot of owners aren't enthusiasts. There are far less WRXs on the road and a lot of them ARE enthusiasts so they wave to each other knowing this. I got waves from S2000 owners when I owned an S2000; Evo owners do it as well. It's for enthusiast cars.

There's a whole hierarchy of Jeep waves. Wranglers are at the bottom or maybe just above Cherokees. Flat fenders are at the top.

I posted a poll in NESIC and 80% of the WRX owners claim to wave.

# of times a WRX owner has waved to me in two years: three. So most of them must not be on here....

I drive a 2.5i, and I've gotten waved at by wrx's and sti's, but I think its also cause I have the local subie club sticker on my rear window.

I wave at other subies, but when they see me in my 1993 Legacy they're just like . It's like, it might not be an STi, but I've ripped the block apart, wave at me please.

There's no way to tell if the person driving it is an enthusiast or not with NA's... So I don't wave. Most of the people I get waves from are modified wrx's and sti's... I'd say the greater percentage of NA drivers don't care enough to wave or talk about their cars online.

This. When I first got my Subaru, I waved at a few N/A Subarus and never got a wave back so I stopped. Sometimes, I don't even get waves from WRX/STi owners.
