I actually have the air-water setup here at the shop, but don't think we going to use it (seems a waste when I could have a nice air-air)

I dont know, seems to me that the air to water modified would be FAR better than air to air.

The Air to Water in its own enclosed system with an equal sized front cooler to that of an Air to Air unit would have a huge "buffer" over.

What I mean is that the water temp will be at a certain level under normal driving. Once you start to create the extra heat during boost even if there was 0 airflow over the cooler the car could run for certain amount of time while the temperature of the water raised.

Plus the fact that the air to water system has a very short intake path.

Here is my idea, I plan to build a turbo legacy in the next few years.

Move the battery to the rear to open a spot in the front. Create a resovoir that is the same size as the battery. Run a system that will go from the air to water cooler, to the resovoir, to the larger front mount cooler, to a pump then to the water air intercooler.

Sound good? I could see you running HUGE boost for short periods if needed since the ambient temperature water could absorb the heat slowly.
