Default Worn clutch? Please help

Hey all,

I drive an 09 wrx hatchback with 5-speed manual gearbox, I only have about 23,000 miles on it. I came back from Thanksgiving break to college here in CT and when I started driving my car on the highway, I noticed that when in 5th gear and I wanted to accelerate, when I pushed the gas down, the Revs would go up and the power wouldn't go to the wheels, at least not for about a second or until I feathered off the gas. I didn't know what this was and now this week I've had the same problem even in 2nd gear, so I have to accelerate pretty slowly in order to keep the ride smooth.

Is this a broken/worn clutch or any other issue? If so, can I take it to the dealer to get it fixed? Is this under warranty, etc etc.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Your car is still under warranty. Take it back to the dealer. BTW, certain wear items (aside from normal warranty items) are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first).

Ok thank you. This morning the car was almost undriveable. Hope they can fix this in under a week.
