Question Trade-in for WRX or not?

I'm tempted to trade-in for the WRX but can't make a decision. I still have about 14K to pay for my 98RS still. It's driving me nuts. ARGH!!!

I'm going to test drive one again *whew* *sigh*

Fong,

Unless you are an incredible haggler, you will most likely take a loss on your RS, meaning that you owe more than you will get for the trade-in. You might have better luck selling it yourself, but I would be surprised. So ask yourself if you really want to dig a debt hole that deep.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

But first can you get one? It might be pretty tight right now and many dealers aren't able to deliver pre-solds.

Would I do it?

If you can get a deal where you won't lose money by selling the car by all means go for the WRX. You will not regret it one bit except if you can't afford it. It is an awesome car but don't dig a hole too deep!!! Good Luck

Yikes, 14k left? I would definitely save up and keep at it and be patient. I would hook up with one eventually if I were you, and just save up in the meanwhile.

I'm in the same situation but I bought a 2000RS. What you need to do is figure out how much you're going to get for your current car, subtract that amount from what you owe and figure out the payment from there. If you borrow $15,000 over five years your payment will be about $300/month. If you borrow $20,000 it will be about $400/month. Don't strap yourself with a payment you can't afford. You will regret it.
