Default 2010 LGT vs 2009 LGT spec B

Searched here and the web, but couldn't find any comparisons between the new 2010 Legacy GT and the previous gen. Legacy GT spec B. Comments from someone who has had seat time in both would be appreciated. Or a link to other threads or on-line reviews comparing these two would be appreciated as well.

09 spec b has a much much better transmission, is smaller, weighs less, has more aftermarket available for it. The 2010 has a really nice, flat torque curve though thanks to the new turbo setup.

I'm mostly looking for handling impressions. I know the spec B has has the more enthusiest oriented suspension tuning of the springs and dampers than the USDM GT, but it should only be a matter of time before parts from the JDM GT tS start showing up here. Reviews of the GT tS are pretty positive, so there seems to be good potential.

I guess my question is does the double wishbone rear setup and other changes to the 5th geneation Legacy give it the greater up side as a Driver's car? (not interested in it's track potential).

People on legacygt.com are just starting to toy with new springs on LGT '10's (not Ts though). There may be some info there that is useful. I own a '10 LGT but haven't driven a Spec B. Of note, the seats are very flat and comfort oriented - not sure if you include seats in handling impressions. Also, my LGT weighs 3440 lbs and according to cars101.com the Spec B weighs 3543.

I have been in this same battle lol. Can not decide on the older small 2.5GT Spec. B a new '10 Legacy GT (used) and a new 3.6R. with a lil munchkin ridiing along the '10 and '11 is the obvious choice b/c of the back seat, but I do prefer the previous gen's looks.

Either way check out Motortrends article on the 2010 Legacy GT, there is few blurbs of "comparisons" there.

Ok, this may be all for not. It appears the Legacy is like the newer Impreza and is not rated to tow.

I'm more of a "versatility vehicle" guy than an "SUV" guy. I like having a Swiss Army knife of cars. My previous Impreza WRX Wagon could do it all. Auto-cross, Rally-cross, track days, carry bikes (receiver hitch) and kayaks (roof rack) at the same time, bring home washer/dryer size appliances, commute to work, get me to remote ski lodges, travel down gravel roads, carry 4 people, all while being fun to drive and without voiding any warranties for towing.

I was hoping a Legacy GT sedan could fill most of these roles while adding a bit more comfort. I'm presently making due with an 06 Impreza 2.5i Wagon. It does the towing and carrying stuff the same as before, but isn't as much fun.

Subaru just doesn't make cars (wagons) for my niche any more. I guess there are not enough people that need a multi-purpose vehicle like me. :-(
