Default Radio question

Does anyone know if a stock Subaru casette/cd player with wiring harness is a direct plug and play to a car that had just a cassette player? My Sony head unit it about to die and I found a good deal on a casette/cd player. My car is a 98 Legacy L and the other radio looks like its out of a 98 Outback. Thanks.

It should be just Plug 'n Pray.

I am assuming both your existing (dieing) and the new unit are both Double DIN sized units.

I don't know. I cut apart the wiring harness from the stock head unit to put in the dieing Sony one.
