Right size tires?

I'm going to be buying some 18 wheels a guy had on his WRX... I drive a 2002 ts wagon, and was wondering if the tires I'm buying will fit!

The tire size is 235/40/R18.... A guy at a tire shop said I can only go up to a 215... But, the guy I'm buying them from said they will fit, and that I just might have to eventually curb the fenders.. I'm assuming they should fit. Bought from the guy before, so I'm trusting him...

Any advice?

Also, I'm looking into getting a set of Hankook winter studless "W300s" Has anyone used these tires? Just wondering how well they'll do on snow and ice.

we have to know the width of the wheels and the offset to suggest a tire size.

I don't know for sure the width of the wheels... but I know they are 5x100... Not sure on the offset either. But, I do know they will bolt on fine... I bought a set of WRX 17 wheels, and they bolted on just fine.

I'm mostly just wondering if they will fit ok in the wheel well... or if I would need to get my fenders curbed before I put them on.... Or if they wouldn't fit period.

that depends on the offset and the width of the wheel. if you dont know that information, which is usually on the back of the face of the wheel somewhere then the only way to tell is to test fit them.

Hey... I got the offset and width of the wheels. They are 18x7.5 and I'm guessing the tires are roughly 10 inches wide...? They are 245/35/R18's...
