Default stock rims, which tires?

Should I go up one/two sizes on tires if I'm sticking with stock 16" rims? It's okay as long as I have the same width, correct?

It's okay as your total outside diameter is the same as stock. This keeps your speedometer calibrated.

If you go to Tire Rack's site and put in your vehicle, it will give you the OE tire. Click on "specs" of the OE tire and you can find the outside diameter then just pick a tire with the same or very close outside diameter, like within 0.2".

you can use this site to find the closest diameter to stock while also increasing width.

I had 225/50 16 on my stock wheels which is only .1% difference in diameter.

what are your goals for your car? street car or some off-road stuff? I ask because you mentioned going up in size and keeping the same width; most people go "up" in size to increase the width of the tire and thus more contact patch and more grip. If this is the case, going up one or two sizes (from 215 to 225 or 235 width) with same ratio number (XX in 215/XX-16) should be fine. I definitely recommend you do the calculations to figure out the diameters and their increase/decrease compared to OEM size. Then go with the one that is closer to the OEM diameter.
