Default Chrisbolton's Bugeye Build

Hey NASIOC,

Slowly but steadily is the theme of this build. I've been part of the NASIOC community for over a year now, but only recently purchased my 02 PSM WRX. I was fortunate to come across a good deal when searching for a Craigslist posting for another listed WRX. I found this one in pretty good condition with just over 100,000 miles. Currently, my end goal is to build a fun daily driver that can double as an autocross/possible track car (one day). I intend to modify the car in all areas, but want to emphasize on modifications in certain areas. For instance, I'd like to keep the appearance clean. Yet I am planning on more heavy modifications in the suspension and somewhat in the drive train/engine. I'd like to hit the 275-300whp range. Granted, I'm also wanting to do this on a budget, so parts will come slowly. I'd also like to get as many parts right the first time around, so I don't have to lose money throughout the process. Anyways, lets get to the pictures. Here is what she looked like the day she came home:

One of the first priorities on my list was to address areas that needed cleaning up. First area to takle was the center console. Here is the before and after:

Before:

After:

Another area that needed clean up/repainting was the engine bay. Here are the before and after:

Before:

After:

And here is a build I draw inspiration from for my build:

Forman Performance Bugeye

The Flying Dutchman (Track Pirates)

Please stay tuned for additional updates and modifications. Thanks for looking!

-Chris

Here are some things I've gotten since purchasing the car:

OEM amber side markers:

STI floor mats:

OEM fog lights and Black Subaru emblem:

And one of the big mods on my list (Enkei RPF01):

Next on the list is suspension. Looking to get some coilovers. Any suggestions for a good coilover setup for beginners would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! I got the 17x8 +45. I was contemplating using 5mm spacers to widen the stance slightly and give it a little more of a flush look. Not sure yet though if thats a good idea. I don't want to do any fender work at the moment so I'd have to read up on lower +40 offsets to see if anyone is experiencing rubbing issues.

Or.. you could pay like 80 dollars to someone who knows what they're doing instead of messing up your fenders

Yeah I'd prefer not to mess with fenders right now. I'd like to have them professionally done when I do. I want to find a reputable shop first.

Thanks man yeah I definitely am a fan of the clean look. I like adding subtle modifications that make the car unique, while keeping it clean at the same time. I'd like to eventually get the 04 tail lights and bumper. And get a nice front lip.

I found this picture in the Enkei Wheels thread. It's adizon's car (I hope it's ok that I use this). It's just that this is a great example of what I would like my car to look like:

Sorry guys for not posting up pics of the exhaust. I don't have my camera charger with me so currently I can only get cell phone pics. Pics to be up asap though!
