Default SPT cat-back exhaust on '11 STI

Has anyone installed the SPT cat-back on an '11 5-door STI? I do have the SPT exhaust on my '09 WRX sedan and I think it is a bit loud on the highway, etc.

I wanted to stay with the SPT to avoid warranty problems, but maybe that doesn't matter.

There are already tons of videos on youtube and NASIOC with WRX's with the SPT exhaust. It is the same exhaust so you should check it out.

I've been in a STi hatch w/ a catless dp and SPT exhaust... it's not loud compared to N1 style stuff however, if you think the SPT was loud on the 09 sedan, prepare for the same in the hatch... and maybe worst b/c the hatch doesnt have a trunk to cover up some of the noise.

if you're just going cat-back you won't run into warranty problems

It is going to be a bit louder for sure, however not nearly as loud as many of the aftermarket systems out there. They do look really good on the car though, very very clean. If you want more power I would go aftermarket downpipe and keep the stock exhaust.

Usually now exhausts will not void warranty as it has to be the cause of the issue.

Here's the stock exhaust vs. SPT on a 2011 WRX hatch.

Now that the 2011 WRX had quad tips, I believe the design is nearly identical to the STI.
