Question GFB Blow-off valve sound?

I am going to purchase a blow-off valve really soon and I would like to hear the GFB one that vents both ways. The only other blow-off valve I have heard is the HKS SSBOV...,....anyone with a sound file?

Drew

I do not have a sound file, but I can tell you that the gfb on the 50/50 sounds pretty stealthy, If you have aftermarket intake or removed the stock silencer you can hear it much more. When you are on the gas hard, it is sure to let of a sweat pssst! I love mine, I wouldn't trade it for any other....Plus you can get it in a anodized blue!

I also have blue one...sound is just about right for me. You won't really notice it unless you listen for it. For some reason, maybe everyone's is like this, but mine is much louder when I first get in my car and start driving. It is not very loud after it has warmed up. The reason I got my GFB was so I could run the 50/50 setup to avoid problems with idle, richness, etc. The GFB works as well as stock and adds the sound!

I got rid of my GFB for the HKS because it was just too quiet.

For those of you with the GFB:

I've heard it has problems of fluttering and leaking at idle.

What did you do to fix this? I've heard it comes with washers to make the spring tighter?

Mine did not come with washers. I didn't have any problems per say, but it did flutter when I did not run at WOT. That is supposed to be normal for it doesn't open all the way when I am not at full boost.

If im not mistaken i think vivid racing has a sound clip of the gfb bov, i use to own a gfb bov but i got rid of it b.c A. Felt more lag between gears. 2. Wasint loud enough. I wouldint mind getting a turboxs but bov's make you car run rich and id rather keep my motor happy then hearing a noise ever other second.

i also traded the gfb in for the hks because it wasn't loud enough. that said, i think the gfb is better suited to the wrx. it is a simple straightforward whoosh sound, not too loud.
the hks sounds truly frightening.

Drews_WRX, if u don't want a loud bov then go for the gfb though don't be mad its not loud enough and start revving higher just to here the bov sound. I sold mine b. c it wasint loud enough and bovs make your car run rich threw gears.
