Default I have questions I am a proud new owner

I just baught an 05 STI, I love it. I have questions about the work that has been done. It has an aps t-back exhaust, aps FMIC, aps intake, aps bov, boost controller, and the ecu has not been flashed.

1. the turbo make a flutterig sound when i shift at low boost?

2. any advice on what to do or not to do with this car? The subi dealership said it looked good and wasn't hacked, but i wold still like more knowledge.

That's the aps blow off valve you hear I assume.

As for not having a reflash or a tune that is a no no. You have more than enough parts on there to warrant a tune before your engine boycotts your mods.

The flutter will happen when you upgrade to a FMIC and to a BOV. I say go ahead and get it tuned. Having all of that with a untuned ECU will blow your new baby up. And congrats on the 05. I got one myself and love this cars.

Here read up: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533787

The section on BOV's has a little tutorial on how to adjust it to avoid compressor surge. Make sure the reference line from the intake mani to the BOV is not pinched.

welcome!

Thanks for the info, getting it mapped monday. One more Q... I have been adjusting the aps bov and the flutter won't go away, i like that it doen't make that useless pssst, but the flutter needs to go. I don't think it's surge because i'm not getting any power jumps when I let off...any advice?

possibly the valve only part way opening if it's at low boost....does it still "flutter" when under full boost(which I'm sort of hoping you didn't do since it's not tuned)
