Default Reverse lights stay on while driving

Hi all, I have a S202 which is a 2002 JDM STi. I went away for 3 months and since I have come back the reverse lights come on after a while of driving and stay on. They don't do it right away but after a while, they come on and stay on. I have disconnected them for now but any suggestions? Should I just change the switch as it keeps sticking or maybe spray it with something?

Thanks
Mike

I would definitely check the switch before anything.

Hi, I assume it is the switch and I have another one but it is impossible to get to it to change it. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a fabricated tool that I will need?

its not impossible to get to. just awkward since you have to be able to
access the sensors on the tranny..a lfit would mae things more doable..

A closed-end metric wrench would work.
