Default Stock wheel for spare?

I have a set of 18x7.5, 5x100 48 offset, if I bought a stock 04 wrx tire/wheel would that work as a spare? Not sure since its 16", although thicker tire...

I wouldn't drive with it on much, just til I got a new tire on.

So long as the diameter of the spare wheel+tire is equivalent I'd think it should work.

So long as you aren't driving long distances 3mm would be negligible.

How about a 16mm difference would that be too much?

What's the diameter of the tires on your 18x7.5" wheels? If it's roughly the same as the stock diameter, why not just use the stock spare?

Assuming you mean the donut:

1. I don't have a choice of tire size with the donut in my car; with an extra spare I could choose 205/215/225 (215 is the closest w/16" wheel) so that the diameter difference is minimal.
2. I couldn't even get the donut (which could be inches different in diameter from my current setup) out because of the subwoofer position in my trunk.
3. I'd rather have something more durable than the donut if I need to have it on for a few days.

I have 225/40R18s on, so the total diameter is 637.3mm, closest to a 215/55/16 setup at 642.9mm

Why would you need a choice of size?

Which shouldn't matter for a temporary spare.

So are you going to rock a roof rack for a full-size spare? If the donut doesn't fit with your subwoofer I'm not sure how a full-size spare is going to be any better.

And the spare is inches different in diameter from the stock setup, too, so that shouldn't be a concern.

To minimize the discrepancy between the spare and the other 3 wheels instead of driving around with a donut that could be hovering above the ground.

If anything happens to one of my wheels (I have 4 only, extra one cracked) then I will need to buy a full new set since Tarmac 2s are no longer made. So i'll need to shop around for a little while, then have them mounted, so this spare may not be so temporary if a situation arises.

I'll keep it at home and have a friend bring it to me if I can't get the donut out, but that's really my concern more than anyone else's.
