Default will 215/60/R15 fit and/or destroy my drive train?

im in the process of ordering snow tires for 15inch rims and the tire place said to verify with the dealer that the smaller size wont destroy the drivetrain, well its sunday so thats not happening and the subaru community is just as good. I currently have 205/50/R17 on my 2010 impreza.

You're fine. Speedo and odometer will be off. How would it "damage" the drivetrain?

Just me sure the overall diameter is the same as stock and you should be fine. This is a good tire size calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
