Default Crazy Idea: Bungee cords as tire chains

Obviously not as a substitute for tire chains but could they be used to get you unstuck?

Heading up to Jay Peak next week and after this weeks snowstorm I have some doubts about my tires so I'm looking for a simple plan B.
