Given the weather predictions for New Jersey, does anyone know if there are changes to the offroad portion of the trip at the Atsion Ranger Station?

for me it was a slow start to the trip this year. when we left for cherry hill it was snowing at 2" per hour and even in the excursion it was very slow going for the first 125 or so miles. i could have saved some time if i had not stopped to pull 2 18 wheelers from their snowy entrapment. pulling off the highway to pick up Mika was an interesting venture as her town had 20+ inches of snow and the roads were barely plowed. the excursion cut trail and the fxt and outback following me were able to make it through.

in total the support truck managed 2233.5 miles for the whole trip but it wasnt without an issue. on the way to ithaca we smelled burning electronics and couldnt figure out from where. a little further down the road it became evident from the bluish smoke pouring out of the AC inverter i had just installed a week earlier. this prompted a VERY quick stop, pop the hood open and yank the fuse out of its power feed, crisis averted. i seem to recall something else being an issue but in my foggy monday brain i cant recall just what it was.

i did not have to pull any subys out of the ditch this year though there was the lady in the altima who went off the road in front of group 3 who i did pull out. the removal of her car was more challenging than planned. after giving her care a skateboard style grind down the edge of the pavement, her car finally popped up onto the pavement. we unhooked the strap only to find her right front tire was flat (prob just the bead was broken). we put the donut spare on the car, lower the jack and find the spare has barely enough air to get her down the road until she can add air to it. while we were changing the tire a state trooper responded to a 911 call someone made. this trooper seemed to be a very nice guy and kept thanking me for helping her, it wasnt until chris and i were back on our way that i found out he was nice enough to give this lady a ticket for being uninspected....

the ride from wings over ithaca to unos was full of garlicy burps which smelled worse than wet dogs or anything else that may have ever left my back side.

the return trip home went pretty well and once again a made ANOTHER girl cry on the 48 hours. this one was different though and i think it was a positive tear that was shed.

i would like to thank SOA, SIA and Turn in Concepts for their hospitatility and good food. without this type of support the event wouldnt be the same.

another thank you goes out to all the sponsors who donated items for the raffle and put smiles on peoples faces and your products on their cars. THANK YOU

i leave for 6 weeks on febuary 12th to look over New Zealand and see if i feel i could live there.....nothing is set in stone other than looking over and checking out the country/work situation.

depending on how donations are doing before i leave for the new zealand trip, donations may still be collected until the first week of april. if the donations seem to have stopped coming in before my trip i will make the official donation at that point. over the next week or 2 i will see how things are going and let everyone know when the end date for donations is.

to this point YOU have done very well collecting money for the American Cancer Society and we are currently at $45,200.00

VERY WELL DONE!

I wish I didn't have school during this, sounds like it was a fun trip. I would have loved to have been there!
